About the Team:
At Aspire, Finance plays a strategic role in driving our business forward. Our Finance team consists of a wide range of crucial functions across 5 verticals: (i) Financial Controlling with Financial reporting, Audit support, Cost Management, Compliance and Risk Management and Tax planning, Reporting, (ii) Treasury, which is a core function for a Fintech with Cash flow and Liquidity Risk, Treasury Product, FX Risk Management, Treasury Operation and Treasury Risk Management, (iii) Data including Business Intelligence, Data Analytics and Data Engineering, (iv) Strategy & Planning, which covers strategic road map, long term planning, fundraising and FP&A and (v) Credit Risk including risk modelling and scoring, portfolio monitoring and credit control. Our Finance team engages in frequent strategic data analysis, research, and modeling to provide the best financial insights for critical business decisions, helping Aspire navigate the competitive landscape and capitalize on emerging opportunities. The team also plays a key part as the first user of our Aspire software, pioneer in Finance transformation, reengineering our internal process to stay agile while maintaining the internal control in a hyper fast growing environment.
About the Role
At Aspire, we pride ourselves on building an amazing team. We require a highly analytical and detail-oriented Data Reconciliation Specialist. You will be responsible for setting up and managing automated rules, ensuring that partners' ledger data is ingested into our data warehouse, and building data tables and dashboards to track reconciliation status. This is a vital role in ensuring efficient financial operations and data accuracy, while supporting the broader reconciliation team's work.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Payment Data Reconciliation: Compare and reconcile payment transactions from our internal ledgers with those of our partners, identifying discrepancies and resolving them in a timely manner.
- Automated Data Ingestion: Ensure that partners’ ledger data is automatically ingested into our data warehouse. Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to set up and maintain robust data pipelines for seamless ingestion of external data.
- Data Table Building: Create and maintain structured data tables to support the reconciliation process. Ensure data tables are optimized for efficient query performance and accurate reporting.
- Automated Rules Setup & Maintenance: Develop, implement, and maintain automated rules and workflows to streamline the reconciliation process. Continuously monitor and improve the effectiveness of these rules.
- Dashboard Creation & Monitoring: Design and build dashboards to track the reconciliation status across partners, payment types, and timelines. Provide real-time insights into the reconciliation process for internal stakeholders and support tracking of the broader reconciliation team’s performance.
- Data Integrity Monitoring: Audit and monitor payment data to ensure consistency across systems. Investigate and resolve discrepancies between internal and external systems, and take corrective actions where necessary.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work with internal teams including finance, IT, and data engineering, as well as external partners, to ensure the smooth flow of data and to resolve any reconciliation issues.
- Reporting & Documentation: Generate comprehensive reports on reconciliation outcomes, highlighting discrepancies, corrective actions, and trends. Maintain detailed documentation of all reconciliation processes and workflows.
- Continuous Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to reconciliation processes, including optimizing automation, improving data ingestion methods, and increasing overall efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Experience with data ingestion processes and building data pipelines into data warehouses (e.g., using SQL, ETL tools).
- Strong skills in building data tables and dashboards (e.g., using SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools).
- Proficiency in using reconciliation and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, or reconciliation software).
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience in data reconciliation, preferably within the payment services or financial services industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle large datasets and identify inconsistencies.
