Program Director

Location: Hamden, Woodbridge, and Wallingford, CT
Status: Full-time, Exempt

Aspire Living & Learning is a non-profit human services agency making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. We are currently seeking a Program Director to lead and support our dedicated teams, ensuring high-quality care and services for those we support.

About the Role

As a Program Director, you will play a key leadership role in managing day-to-day operations, supervising staff, and ensuring program compliance across multiple service areas. This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about team development, person-centered care, and organizational excellence.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and develop teams through supportive supervision, coaching, and professional growth opportunities.

  • Oversee program operations, ensuring compliance with internal policies and state/federal regulations.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive work culture, promoting collaboration, community integration, and open communication.

  • Build strong partnerships with families, stakeholders, and state/local agencies.

  • Monitor quality assurance and improvement efforts and help achieve strategic goals.

  • Manage the fiscal and administrative aspects of the program with support from senior leadership.

  • Provide on-call support and ensure continuity of services when needed.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred)

  • 5+ years of experience in human services, including 2+ years in a leadership or program management role

  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills

  • Familiarity with agency regulations and program oversight

  • Ability to work independently and support a dynamic, mission-driven team

  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory background checks
