Business Development Manager

AssetWatch is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Business Development Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our business development team within the sales department. The essence of this role is to ensure that our team not only meets but exceeds AssetWatch's growth and market expansion objectives through effective leadership, strategy, and especially through intensive coaching.

What You'll Do:

  • Serve as the primary coach for a team of quota-carrying Business Development Representatives (BDRs). Your key responsibility will be to provide comprehensive coaching on all facets of the sales process, from calls, emails, to crafting effective talk tracks. The expectation is for you to be deeply involved in developing the skills of your team, guiding them to achieve and exceed their individual and collective monthly, quarterly, and yearly targets.
  • Develop and implement best practice operating strategies for the business development team, encompassing hiring, onboarding, training, and management of BDRs.
  • Conduct weekly one-on-one meetings with team members to closely monitor their progress, provide constructive feedback, and discuss avenues for professional development.
  • Embrace the role of a player-coach by leading from the front, actively engaging in prospecting key accounts as part of the sales team's strategic initiatives.
  • Partner with Marketing to craft and evaluate Account-Based Marketing (ABM) campaigns. Ensuring that sales and marketing efforts are synchronized, focusing on targeted outreach that aligns with our strategic objectives.
  • Educate and guide BDRs on AssetWatch's corporate messaging and strategy, ensuring that all outreach is consistent with our company's goals and effectively communicates our value proposition to prospects.
  • Oversee the efficient routing of sales leads and the effective use of sales tools by the BDR team.
  • Foster a culture of hard work, inclusivity, and collaboration, empowering team members to perform at their best.
  • Refine processes to achieve lead generation goals, diligently monitor team metrics, and ensure achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Proactively oversee the expansion of the sales pipeline, forecasting potential challenges and devising strategies to overcome them.

Who You Are:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in sales or business development within a B2B context, preferably in SaaS and/or industrial sales.
  • 1+ years of experience in a leadership role, with a strong emphasis on team coaching and development.
  • Proficiency in tracking, forecasting sales pipeline, and revenue growth.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, challenging, and collaborative environment.
  • A strong drive to succeed and a passion for sales excellence and best practices.
  • Positive and energetic phone skills, excellent listening skills, and strong writing skills.
  • Experience with marketing and sales automation software.

We have a distributed team that works remotely across locations in the United States and Canada. We are open to candidates from most states as long we all can closely collaborate within core working hours.
