Hardware Product Manager, R&D

As the R&D Product Manager, you will be at the heart of our innovation efforts, leading the development of new products and technologies that will shape the future of condition monitoring in industrial settings. Your role will involve overseeing the research and development process, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of products that meet the highest standards of quality and performance.   

What You'll Do:

  • Product Strategy: Develop a clear product strategy, aligning it with the company's vision and market needs in the Industrial IoT space. Define and execute go-to-market strategies for new hardware products, including pricing, positioning, and sales enablement. 
  • Product Roadmap: Develop and maintain a product roadmap that aligns with market trends, customer feedback, and the company's strategic goals. Manage the front-end product development lifecycle for hardware products, including concept, design, early development, early testing, and initial launch. 
  • Hardware Expertise: Leverage your deep knowledge of hardware development to guide the creation of advanced condition monitoring devices. This includes sensors, industrial systems, and wireless networks.
  • Industrial Understanding: Utilize your extensive industrial background to ensure that our products are well-suited to the demanding environments and requirements of our target industries.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with engineering, design, and marketing teams to drive the development process from concept to market launch.
  • Competitive Analysis: Stay informed about the competitive landscape and emerging technologies in the IIoT sector to make informed decisions.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that products meet all relevant industry standards and country/regional regulations.
  • Customer Engagement: Work with customer feedback and incorporate it into product improvements, ensuring that our products continue to meet the evolving needs of our customers. 

Who You Are: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in R&D or product management roles, preferably in the Industrial IoT or related industries.
  • Strong technical knowledge of hardware design and development, including knowledge of electronics, embedded systems, and sensors. 
  • Experience with industry-specific compliance requirements related to condition monitoring, such as safety regulations and environmental standards such as Hazardous Locations (HazLoc) is preferred.   
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with customers and partners. 
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment. 
  • A passion for technology and innovation.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, startup environment.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks such as ISO, UL, FCC, and CE marking requirements is a plus.  
  • Experience navigating regulatory compliance processes and obtaining necessary certifications for hardware products is a plus.

We have a distributed team that works remotely across locations in the United States. We are open to candidates from most states but collaboration within core working hours is required.
