Hardware Product Manager

As the Hardware Product Manager, you will be responsible for driving the development of hardware products for our IoT-enabled condition monitoring platform. This role involves managing the product development lifecycle from concept to release, working with cross-functional teams, and collaborating with customers and partners. You have a strong technical background in hardware design and development, as well as experience managing the development and delivery of hardware products for IoT applications.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage the product development lifecycle for IoT hardware products, including concept, design, development, testing, and release.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware components with software and cloud platforms.
- Define and manage product requirements, including feature sets, performance criteria, and technical specifications.
- Work with hardware engineering teams to ensure designs are feasible, manufacturable, and meet cost targets.
- Define and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
- Collaborate with customers and partners to understand their needs and requirements, ensuring products are designed to meet those needs.
- Define and execute go-to-market strategies for IoT hardware products, including pricing, positioning, and sales enablement.
- Monitor and analyze market trends and competitive landscapes to inform product development and go-to-market strategies.
- Monitor and analyze product health and trends to inform future product development and reporting to other teams.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in hardware product management, preferably in an IoT environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of hardware design and development, including knowledge of electronics, embedded systems, and sensors.
- Experience with Internet of Things (IoT) devices/products.
- Experience with industry-specific compliance requirements, including safety regulations and environmental standards such as Hazardous Locations (HazLoc) is preferred.
- Experience identifying key IoT sensor health metrics (e.g., signal integrity, battery life, failure rates, etc.) and collaborating with engineering teams on data structures and BI dashboards.
- Experience improving product team metrics, KPIs, and benchmarking to enhance time-to-market and development cycles.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with customers and partners.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience with product testing and validation, including conducting and documenting tests to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies is a plus.
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks such as ISO, UL, FCC, and CE marking requirements is a plus.
- Experience navigating regulatory compliance processes and obtaining necessary certifications for hardware products is a plus.
