Position Description

Assured Guaranty is seeking a development manager with proven ability to lead development through all aspects of the SDLC process. This includes the design, implementation, and maintenance of our enterprise systems with a focus on providing value to business. This person will need to work closely with business analysts, product owners, and development teams to deliver high quality technical solutions.  We are looking for someone who is hands-on, has a passion for technology, and can collaborate across the firm utilizing strong communication skills.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee software development, integration, and testing activities.
  • Manage developers in the context of an agile development process.
  • Design performant and maintainable technical solutions.
  • Develop technology standards and coach developers on adherence.
  • Set performance objectives and evaluate performance against them.
  • Mentor less experienced team members and participate in development as necessary.
  • Communicate with business stakeholders to create and prioritize development backlogs.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Experience designing and delivering applications in a cloud-based environment (AWS, Azure)
  • Experience building solutions in C#, JavaScript, and Python.
  • Experience building microservices, event driven systems, domain models, and user interfaces.
  • Experience with front end JavaScript frameworks such as React and Material UI.
  • Experience with SQL Server, MongoDB, and Kafka a plus.
  • Experience delivering applications with automated testing and delivery pipelines.
  • Application lifecycle management in agile teams using industry standard tools such as Jira, Git Hub, or Azure DevOps
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in financial services or insurance preferred.

Candidate Background

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in software development.

Compensation

Annual base salary for the position is expected to be from $155,000 per year to $180,000 per year. The actual salary will depend on various factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s experience and credentials, salary expectations of applicable candidates, and other applicable market conditions. This position also provides applicable employee benefits, as well as eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.

Close Personal Relationship: A relationship that involves two individuals who (i) are members of the same family; (ii) share an intimate, sexual encounter or ongoing romantic or intimate relationship; (iii) share an ongoing friendship which demonstrates an emotional connection that supersedes the working, collegial relationship as the connection between two people and may cause others to feel excluded and question their objectivity, independence of judgment and fairness; or (iv) provide each other with domestic support, financial support or loan, employment or volunteer work.
