IT Support Specialist

ASSYST is seeking a skilled IT Support Specialist to provide advanced desktop and technology support in an enterprise environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting Windows-based systems, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing OS imaging and deployments and providing remote support to end users. This role requires strong technical expertise in enterprise desktop environments, Active Directory, VPN support, mobile device management and helpdesk ticketing systems such as ServiceNow.

The candidate should be customer-focused, detail-oriented and capable of supporting both onsite and remote employees in a fast-paced environment.

Location: Rockville, MD (Onsite)

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced desktop support for hardware, software, operating systems and mobile devices.
  • Perform Windows OS imaging, deployment, configuration and troubleshooting for enterprise environments.
  • Support and administer Windows 10 and Windows 11 Enterprise systems.
  • Troubleshoot desktop, laptop and application issues within Active Directory and enterprise domain environments.
  • Support virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environments and remote users.
  • Configure, troubleshoot and maintain enterprise printers and peripheral devices.
  • Provide support for rapid device deployments, computer relocations and inventory management activities.
  • Support commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications and internal business applications.
  • Assist users with VPN connectivity and remote access issues.
  • Provide remote technical support via telephone and Microsoft Teams.
  • Utilize helpdesk ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Remedy to track, manage and resolve incidents and service requests.
  • Support Microsoft Office productivity tools including Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, support procedures and inventory records.
  • Provide A/V support and perform additional IT support duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of desktop support, hardware troubleshooting, software support and mobile device management.
  • Experience supporting Windows enterprise environments, including Active Directory.
  • Hands-on experience with OS imaging and Microsoft deployment tools.
  • Familiarity with VPN technologies and remote management tools.
  • Experience supporting enterprise printers and peripheral devices.
  • Knowledge of VDI solutions and remote desktop support.
  • Experience using ticket management systems, especially ServiceNow.
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft 365 Suite and enterprise applications.
  • Ability to provide remote support for teleworking employees.

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) from an accredited university preferred.

Verifiable technical certifications preferred, including:

  • CompTIA Certifications
  • HDI Certifications
  • ITIL Certifications
  • Microsoft Certifications
