Project Manager

ASSYST is seeking a Project Manager for the end-to-end planning, coordination, execution, and system implementation of moderate to complex business solutions, in Austin, Texas (Hybrid role)

The Project Manager ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, and seamlessly aligned with organizational goals. Acting as a central hub for cross-divisional collaboration, the Project Manager drives communication, accountability, and standardized project management practices across teams, while providing critical decision support to leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, timelines, milestones, action item logs, and dashboards.
  • Lead requirements gathering, business analysis, and specifications development for system implementations.
  • Monitor project progress diligently to ensure deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate workflows and guide project activities across multiple divisions, teams, and business areas.
  • Build strong relationships, manage expectations, and drive consensus among internal teams, leadership, vendors, and external partners.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, follow-through, and sustained project momentum.
  • Facilitate project meetings, document key decisions, and maintain meticulous project documentation (meeting notes, risk logs, etc.).
  • Prepare and present clear, high-level project status updates, risk assessments, and dashboards for executive leadership.
  • Proactively identify project risks, barriers, dependencies, and delays; recommend and escalate mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Analyze workflows to identify inefficiencies, recommend process improvements, and support the adoption of standardized project management practices.
  • Support quality assurance and compliance initiatives throughout the project lifecycle.

 

Requirements:

Certification Requirement
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is REQUIRED. * Note: The PMP certification must be explicitly stated on the candidate's resume. Proof of certification may be requested during the application process.

Candidates must possess at least 3 years of demonstrated experience in the following core competencies:

  • Project Coordination & Management: Proven ability to build project plans, track timelines, and generate comprehensive status reports.
  • Cross-Divisional Leadership: Experience managing work and driving collaboration across multiple separate divisions or business units.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Skilled at gathering input, managing expectations, and building consensus across diverse teams and vendor networks.
  • Communication & Facilitation: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of leading meetings and presenting to executive leadership.
  • Process Improvement: Ability to evaluate workflows, pinpoint inefficiencies, and implement standardized practices.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Proficiency in identifying project risks and executing timely mitigation or escalation strategies.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Experience maintaining accurate project artifacts, risk logs, action items, and executive dashboards.
  • Organization & Attention to Detail: Proven capability to juggle competing priorities and ensure strict deadline compliance.
  • Leadership & Accountability: Strong guidance skills to maintain project momentum and ensure team follow-through.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • 5+ Years of Tool Proficiency: Advanced familiarity with project management, collaboration, and reporting software including Microsoft Planner, Teams, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Visio, Power Automate, Power Apps, or equivalent platforms.
  • 2+ Years of AI & Automation Familiarity: Working knowledge of automation tools, AI-supported processes, or technology modernization efforts aimed at reducing manual work and improving operational efficiency.
  • Organizational Context: Previous experience working within large, matrixed organizations or public sector environments.
  • Specialized Initiatives: Hands-on experience driving organizational process improvement initiatives.
