Senior Business Intelligence Analyst (AI, Data Warehouse & Healthcare Analytics)
Assyst is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to support a client in delivering enterprise Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse solutions within a complex, regulated environment. This role is ideal for an experienced Business/Systems Analyst with expertise in business requirements gathering, SQL, data analytics, testing, and reporting, along with emerging AI-driven data analysis capabilities.
The selected candidate will work as a senior analyst on an Agile development team, partnering with business and technical stakeholders to gather and document requirements, develop test strategies, create reports and dashboards, and leverage AI-powered data synthesis techniques. The role also requires expertise in data governance, business intelligence, data visualization, and training end users on AI-enabled analytics tools.
This is a 100% onsite position. Only local candidates currently residing in Texas will be considered.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business, technical, and data requirements, including business rules and acceptance criteria.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications, test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and maintain a comprehensive Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM).
- Lead testing activities across Agile and Waterfall projects, ensuring quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Develop complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, validate, and analyze data from multiple internal and external data sources.
- Translate complex operational and data requests into actionable AI prompts and query strategies for analytics and reporting.
- Design, refine, and maintain standardized AI prompt libraries and reusable query templates for common reporting needs.
- Collaborate with business users, analysts, and technical teams to create, validate, and enhance reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Power BI and/or Tableau.
- Validate AI-generated outputs, identify potential inaccuracies or hallucinations, and ensure reporting accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure all reporting solutions adhere to established data governance, data quality, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Conduct AI and data literacy training sessions for business users with varying levels of technical expertise.
- Develop user guides, documentation, tutorials, and best practices for AI-assisted data analysis and reporting.
- Work closely with data engineering, IT, and business teams to troubleshoot data quality issues and resolve reporting inconsistencies.
- Provide subject matter expertise in interpreting complex data trends and supporting strategic business decision-making.
- Stay current with emerging AI technologies, business intelligence tools, and data analytics best practices to continuously improve reporting capabilities.
Required Skills
- 12+ years of extensive experience gathering business, technical, and data requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
- 12+ years of strong experience as a Senior Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Data Analyst, or Data Liaison in complex enterprise environments.
- 10+ years of expertise in SQL for complex data extraction, analysis, validation, and manipulation.
- 10+ years of experience developing test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and supporting Agile and Waterfall testing methodologies.
- 5+ years of strong background in Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse (BI/DW) environments.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization platforms.
- Experience creating reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions for business and operational reporting.
- Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and regulatory compliance principles.
- Experience working in healthcare, health and human services, or other highly regulated industries.
- Experience developing AI prompt catalogs and reusable prompt libraries using tools such as Streamlit with Python.
- Knowledge of responsible AI practices and validating AI-generated outputs for accuracy and compliance.
- Experience delivering training, mentoring, and promoting data literacy across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working within Agile development environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
