Network Architect

ASSYST is seeking a Network Architect to support our client project in Tallahassee, FL.

This is a Remote position.

Typically has seven (7) to 10 years of IT work experience in infrastructure and network environments, performing network planning, architecture design, hardware and software engineering, and optimization.

Scope of Work:

  • The Network Architect will serve as the principal line of communication for the project team.
  • Architect and deploy enterprise Network Access Control (NAC) using Aruba ClearPass across more than 2,500 devices and switches running Aruba Operating System (AOS) and Campus Experience (AOS-CX) code bases;
  • Migrate over 2,500 Aruba switches from Aruba AirWave to Aruba Central cloud architecture;
  • Engineer comprehensive ClearPass policies, including Aruba ClearPass architecture and management, device fingerprinting, service policies with 802.1x certificates, role mapping, Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) assignment, and Downloadable User Roles (DUR);
  • Implement and configure Aruba wireless controllers, access points (APs), as well as Aruba AirWave and Central for unified network monitoring and dashboard management;
  • Identify automation opportunities and optimize the operations through documentation and monitoring adjustments;
  • Conduct wireless site surveys, predictive heat mapping, and Radio Frequency (RF) optimization protocols to ensure optimal network coverage and throughput performance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Professional Certification Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) Aruba Networking Certified Expert - Network Security credential;
  • Expert-level experience in deploying and managing Aruba NAC;
  • Served as a primary technical lead in migrating a large network over 2,000 switches from Aruba Airwave to Aruba Central;
  • Expert-level experience in deploying and managing Aruba Central; and
  • Advanced knowledge of troubleshooting and deploying device and user certificates.
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related fields or five (5) years of equivalent work experience is required. Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis when applicable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in utilizing Python programming and PowerShell scripting to automate network configurations, parse logs, and orchestrate API workflows;
  • Extensive operational experience deploying, configuring, and managing legacy Aruba Airwave servers for network monitoring and baseline compliance;
  • Proven ability to support and administer the enterprise Palo Alto security suite, including Panorama, Prisma Access, Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW), Digital Experience Monitoring (DEM), and Strata Logging Service;
  • Possession of an HPE Advanced Product Certified in Clear Pass.
