As an Astera Labs New Product Introduction(NPI)/Electrical Product Intern you will be part of a Hardware Manufacturing Engineering team that designs and manufactures products featuring Astera Labs' portfolio of connectivity ASICs used in the world's leading cloud service providers, server and network OEMs. In this role you will be responsible for NPI - taking product from design stage to volume manufacturing. You will be working closely with designers, manufacturing team, suppliers, and contract manufacturers to ensure that hardware products test flow is properly introduced, released to manufacturing, and supported past production.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Manufacturing NPI Program Manager
  • Release BOM/new parts through ECO
  • Work with factory and engineering teams to troubleshoot failures. Including mfg issues and design improvements.
  • Create Build documentation for Contract Manufacturing.
  • Create rework instructions under direction from Design Engineering.
  • Receive, inspect and test prototypes and feedback information to Design Engineering.

Basic Qualifications

  • Strong academic and technical background in electrical engineering. Must be pursuing a Bachelor's in EE or Management Engineering or equivalent experience is required.
  • Some exposure/experience in electrical or mechanical assembly
  • Entrepreneurial, open-minded behavior and can-do attitude. Think and act with the customer in mind!

Required Experience

  • Strong understanding of electronics and test approach
  • Ability to take basic description of the assy and execute documentation, track the builds + document results + troubleshoot failures create feedback loop to the design team.
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Good documentation skills
  • Working knowledge of schematics + layout tools
  • Track record of working on complex electronics products.
