Applied AI Engineer Intern - Fall Co-Op

As an Applied AI Engineer Intern, you’ll help take projects from concept to production in just a few months.

You’ll work alongside a Program Lead and other interns to develop AI-powered tools, automate workflows, and integrate intelligent features into our internal systems. This is a hands-on role where you’ll write production code, collaborate across functions, and learn how to deliver secure, high-impact AI applications at scale. We're looking for college students eligible for a fall co-op, ideally starting in early September.

What You’ll Do

• Contribute to the full software development lifecycle — from requirements gathering and architecture through coding, testing, and deployment.
• Build and integrate AI and automation features into secure, production-ready applications.
• Collaborate with team members in daily standups, two-week sprints, and regular demos.
• Apply best practices in software engineering, including automated testing, observability, and code reviews.
• Work across a modern tech stack (examples may include: Next.js, FastAPI/NestJS, LangChain, AWS services, Git).
• Gain exposure to AI engineering practices in a real-world, production environment.

What We’re Looking For

Required

• Passion for AI, automation, and improving engineering workflows.
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s (2nd or 3rd year) or Master's, ideally in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
• Experience in full-stack, backend, or frontend development.
• Strong programming skills in JavaScript/TypeScript and/or Python.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and modern development tools.
• Understanding of secure coding principles and version control (Git).
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, iterative environment.

Preferred

• Previous internship or project experience building AI/ML-powered applications.
• Exposure to frameworks like Next.js, FastAPI/NestJS, LangChain, or AWS Bedrock.
• Interest in infrastructure, DevOps, or cloud-native app deployment.

The pay range for this role is $40/hour.
