Job Description
In this role, you will also develop deep expertise in Astera Labs Scorpio PCIe Smart Fabric Switches to understand product capabilities, limitations, and applications, so that you can develop tools, documentation, and provide guidance for internal and external users of the product. You will need to identify and understand customer requirements, propose Astera Labs solutions that provide clear value to the customer, and provide hands-on design-in support. You will also drive innovation by listening to the customer requirements, working with our engineering teams to implement those requirements into the product roadmap, and delivering the results back to the customer.
Basic Qualifications
- BS in electrical engineering or computer science; a Master’s degree is preferred
- Customer-oriented, goal-driven, self-motivated, able to work independently, and be able to travel semi-frequently to customer sites
- Entrepreneurial, open-minded behavior, and can-do attitude; think and act with the customer in mind!
Required Experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills for interacting with internal teams, external customers, and writing customer-facing documentation
- Intermediate level of proficiency in Python for tool development and test automation
- Able to read an electronics schematic with reasonable intuition
- Able to read and step through embedded firmware for debugging
- Firsthand experience with lab equipment including power supplies, multimeters, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes
Preferred Experience
- Hands-on knowledge of NRZ/PAM4 SerDes-based protocols like 100/400/800G Ethernet (25G and above), PCI Express, CXL, or similar
- Working knowledge of Linux software/firmware build environments (gcc, Make, git, bash, etc.)
- Development/support for PCIe or Ethernet Switch products, or other high-speed SerDes products
- Knowledge of electronics simulation/modeling, schematic capture, and PCB layout tools from Cadence, Altium and others, etc.
- Knowledge of high-speed electronics simulation tools such as Keysight ADS, Mathworks QCD, etc., for IBIS-AMI analysis
