About the role

Astera Labs is seeking a Data Analyst, NCG to support reporting, business intelligence, data quality, automation, and data pipeline initiatives across the business. You will turn business and operational data into actionable insights, scalable datasets, and reliable workflows that improve decision-making and efficiency.

You will work with business and technical stakeholders to understand questions, prepare and analyze data, build reporting solutions, document business logic, and improve the reliability and scalability of analytics processes. This role offers exposure to modern Microsoft and Azure data platforms and the opportunity to contribute to practical, high-impact projects in a fast-paced environment.

What you’ll do

• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and key performance indicators that support business and operational insights.

• Prepare, clean, transform, and validate data from databases, spreadsheets, and business systems using tools such as Power Query and SQL.

• Build and validate data models, relationships, tables, measures, and calculations used for reporting and analysis.

• Write SQL queries in Azure SQL Database to support reporting, data validation, trend analysis, and business questions.

• Create and maintain automated workflows in Power Automate for notifications, approvals, recurring processes, and other business needs.

• Contribute to lightweight integrations and automation using Azure Data Factory and Azure Functions where applicable.

• Perform data-quality checks, investigate inconsistencies and anomalies, and help improve the completeness, accuracy, and usability of data.

• Support recurring reporting and process-improvement initiatives that increase speed, accuracy, and scalability.

• Document data sources, report definitions, data models, business rules, reporting logic, governance practices, and workflow steps.

• Communicate findings, recommendations, and project outcomes through clear written summaries, presentations, and discussions with diverse stakeholders.

• Take ownership of defined workstreams, manage milestones, ask thoughtful questions, and follow through from planning through delivery.

What you’ll bring

Basic qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research, or a related field.

• Foundational experience with data analysis through coursework, projects, research, internships, or other practical experience.

• Experience using Excel for data analysis, including formulas, PivotTables, lookups, charts, or basic dashboards.

• Familiarity with SQL and at least one data-analysis, programming, or scripting language such as Python or R.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and curiosity about how data can improve business decisions.

• Ability to explain technical findings clearly to business and technical audiences.

• Collaborative, proactive approach with the ability to learn new tools quickly, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively with structured and imperfect data.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with Power BI, Power Query, DAX, Tableau, Looker, or another business-intelligence and data-visualization platform.

• Familiarity with Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Power Automate, databases, data warehouses, or ETL concepts.

• Experience documenting data definitions, reporting logic, data-quality checks, or workflow processes.

• Exposure to data governance, reporting standards, security practices, or scalable analytics solutions through coursework or projects.

• Previous experience working with cross-functional stakeholders on business, operational, or technical data problems.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $100,000–$110,000. This role may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
