About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Corporate Tax Manager to join our tax team and provide support to a variety of international income tax, indirect tax and US tax matters. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing accounting firm service providers, gathering and preparing tax data, ensuring accuracy of all tax filings and supporting business teams. Key responsibilities include overseeing international income tax and indirect tax compliance, domestic indirect tax compliance, domestic FDII and R&D credit documentation and reviewing the income tax provision calculation prepared externally. This role will also work with the accounting team and the FP&A team to provide tax support for cross-functional projects.
Ideal candidates will have positive attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to learn and manage multiple complex projects in a fast-paced environment. A current manager role with combined public accounting and corporate tax background is required, with at least 8 years of relevant experience.
What You Will Do
- Global Compliance Calendar: Create Astera’s GCC to maintain the status of all tax filings globally.
- International Tax: Review all income tax and indirect tax calculations prepared by service providers and maintain records.
- US Indirect Tax: Manage sales/use tax, property tax and all other business tax compliance.
- US Income Tax: Responsible for meeting FDII and R&D credit documentation requirements, providing tax return data, prepare tax workpaper and reviewing tax returns.
- Income Tax Provision: Provide tax data to the external service provider, review quarterly income tax provision calculation and 10-Q/10-K tax disclosures.
- Managing Tax Operation: Act as go-to person for day-to-day tax operation to ensure the smoothness of the tax function.
- Project Manager: Manage all tax projects including tax audits, special transactions etc.
What You Will Need
- 8+ years of relevant experience, including public accounting and in-house
- Accounting/tax degree (CPA or equivalent)
- Experience managing tax in public companies
- Can-do attitude and positive mindset, self-starting, and comfortable working in a highly dynamic environment
- Excellent drafting and written and verbal communication skills with the ability to break down complex tax jargon into easy-to-understand and practical suggestions
- Curiosity for learning and continuous process improvement
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, project management and organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Team player who works cross-functionally in a complex global organizational environment
The base salary range is USD 185,250 - USD 200,000. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
