
Environmental Test Technician

Environmental Test Technician
As an Environmental Test Technician you will have the unique responsibility of testing our spacecraft, its sub-assemblies, and components through the simulated harsh environments of space. You will also be responsible for operating and maintaining our world class environmental test lab to ensure its equipment and facilities are always ready to support mission critical test campaigns.
Role
- Execute environmental tests using equipment such as electrodynamic shakers, thermal vacuum chambers, thermal cycling chambers, etc
- Utilize a wide range of test equipment and data acquisition systems, including building and maintaining specialized test setups
- Perform tests and verifications of flight hardware to test requirements, documenting results in a clear, precise and complete manner to meet product quality standards
- Responsible for maintenance and calibration activities of test equipment
- Interpret drawings, specifications, assembly procedures, test procedures, etc.
- Support engineering troubleshooting and root cause investigations
- Assist with area efficiency and 5S improvement projects
- Use mechanical hand tools and torque wrenches for various test setups
Requirements
- 2+ years of working experience in a test, manufacturing, or production environment
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
- Able to lift 25 lbs, unassisted
- Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime and/or weekends as needed, including support of 24/7 operations for critical test campaigns
- During mission critical operations, shifts can reach up to 12 hours
- Shift Start Times:
- 1st shift - 6:00am
- 2nd shift - 12:00pm
Bonus
- Experience with thermal, TVAC, vibration, shock, or acoustic testing
- Experience with space flight components and spacecraft environmental testing
- Experience in operating cranes, man lifts, forklifts, and handling equipment
Base Hourly Pay
$30 - $55 USD
