Astria is a shared sequencing layer that replaces centralized sequencing. This allows many rollups to share a single decentralized sequencing solution that’s simple and permissionless to join. The shared sequencing layer provides out-of-the-box censorship resistance and fast block confirmations.

Our team combines traditional experience in building and scaling teams at technology companies like Google and Meta, with crypto native experience from the most impactful businesses and protocols. We are backed by the leading crypto native investors including Maven11, 1kx, dba, and Delphi Digital. 

We are remote first, Employees aren’t required to live in any specific location or timezone. Employees are expected to be generally available between 10 AM and 2 PM Mountain Time (MT). English is our primary language. 

About the Role

Astria is seeking a Content Lead to collaborate with marketing, product / engineering / research, and business development on content strategy and go-to-market execution. Responsibilities include developing Astria's content strategy; building a scalable content creation engine; expanding content distribution; and reporting upon & improving content marketing impact. We believe research and product led marketing are key to our success. Therefore developers, builders, and researchers are our priority audiences. Strong technical content writing skills and demonstrated knowledge of crypto infrastructure & the modular ecosystem are a must. There is opportunity, however, for a candidate with strength in both the geek and degen ends of the crypto spectrum to expand our focus to include retail and community. 

This candidate will work closely with the Head of Marketing to communicate updates on Astria’s products and services and empower users to learn and build.The ideal candidate can work independently as well as within a team and can work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities 

Planning

  • Develop Astria's content strategy; strategy will be mapped to audience segments & OKRs that the content lead will participate in defining. 
  • Work with BD, product, research, DevRel on content planning.
  • Build and manage a long-term content calendar.
  • Own content development for our blog, website, events, BD / marketing collateral, and collaborate on social & PR. Increased ownership of community & consumer focused social a possibility for the right candidate. 
  • Drive review and approval of content with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Create internal transparency around content marketing plans & impact.

Execution

  • Build a scalable content creation engine; strong project management and process development skills are a plus.
  • Create content as an IC, via internal SME coordination, and by enlisting external resources (e.g. partners, agencies, etc). 
  • Expanding our distribution by optimizing & growing existing channels and by adding new channels. 

Reporting & Optimization

  • Report on content marketing impact.
  • Suggest optimizations and tests to improve performance. Action bias with an analytical test & learn mentality is required. 
  • Live and breathe the industry; stay current on industry & competitive trends to inform our plans. 
  • Drive content marketing innovation agenda; strive for unprecedented, breakthrough content.

Requirements

  • Previous experience leading content for an infrastructure company & communicating with technical audiences
  • A cool head and balanced approach to content (we’re a serious company, but like to have fun)
  • 3+ years of experience owning content strategy; 5+ years in content development
  • Previous crypto experience; strong knowledge of audience segments, competitive landscape, and market dynamics / narratives
  • Strong project management and internal communication skills. 
  • Analytical and creative thinker; able to operate from first principles
  • Crypto-Twitter native; deep familiarity with Discord
