Astro Pak is the nation's leading precision cleaning and passivation contractor specializing in on-site cleaning of high purity gas and fluid systems, as well as precision cleaning of components and hardware at the company’s Cleanroom facilities. Astro Pak provides services to over 15 sectors including: Data Centers, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, Aerospace, Semiconductor, and other selected Industrial markets. The company, founded in 1959, has performed on-site precision chemical cleaning in every State of the Union as well as several projects in Asia, continental Europe, England, Ireland and Mexico.

Astro Pak is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead the Quality Department in our Downey Cleanroom. This role plays a critical part in ensuring our Quality Management System (QMS) meets ISO9001/AS9100 standards while fostering a strong culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and customer focus.

This role reports to the Director of Quality & Engineering and is an onsite position based in Downey, CA, Monday through Friday.

What You’ll Do

Quality Management & Leadership

  • Serve as the location’s Management Representative for ISO9001/AS9100 compliance
  • Maintain the integrity of the QMS and ensure processes deliver their intended outputs
  • Report on performance metrics, risks, and opportunities for improvement to the Quality Director
  • Promote customer focus throughout the organization
  • Act as the primary liaison for external audits, customers, and regulatory bodies

Continuous Improvement

  • Champion a culture that drives higher performance and exceeds customer expectations.
  • Lead efforts to identify, control, and correct nonconformities
  • Provide guidance to reduce risk and prevent recurrence of issues
  • Oversee the corrective action system and partner with Process Owners to improve processes, documentation, and QMS effectiveness

Quality Control & Operational Support

  • Manage a team of Quality Inspectors, including goal setting and workflow optimization
  • Oversee the Internal Audit program to maintain compliance with AS9100 and QMS requirements
  • Ensure calibration, testing, and inspection programs are effective and up to date
  • Support compliance with contract, regulatory, and customer requirements
  • Prepare for and host customer and external audits

Training, Leadership & Culture

  • Lead, mentor, and develop Quality team members
  • Partner with HR and other departments to build strong training programs that reinforce quality awareness and company culture
  • Support performance evaluations and coaching for team growth

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all company safety policies and report unsafe conditions
  • Support compliance efforts related to U.S. Export Control Laws

What You Bring

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or 5+ years of related experience in Quality Assurance
  • Proven track record managing quality systems, teams, and process improvement initiatives
  • ISO 9001 experience required; AS9100D experience strongly preferred
  • Aerospace or service-based quality management experience is highly desirable

Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities; effective at all levels of the company
  • Able to handle confidential information, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and cGMP-style documentation
  • Legally able to comply with U.S. Export Control requirements

Analytical & Technical Skills

  • Ability to interpret complex documents and deliver clear, persuasive presentations
  • Skilled in statistical analysis (e.g., ANOVA, correlation, sampling theory)
  • Able to define problems, collect and analyze data, and draw sound conclusions

Salary & Benefits

  • The pay for this position has a base salary of $130,000-$145,00. The actual pay will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location.
  • In addition to highly employer-subsidized medical, dental, and vision plans, Astro Pak offers competitive retirement savings and 401k plans, flexible spending, family leave, training and paid time off.
