Astro Pak is seeking a highly organized, driven, and hands-on Logistics & Planning Supervisor to lead shipping, receiving, inventory management, and production planning operations at our Downey, CA Cleanroom facility. This is an exciting opportunity for a logistics professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing operational execution with team leadership and customer support.

In this role, you will work cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, and Accounting to ensure on-time delivery performance, inventory accuracy, and exceptional customer service for high-precision aerospace and defense customers.

This role is based onsite Monday-Friday at our Downey, CA office.

What You’ll Do

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, coach, train, and supervise the Shipping & Receiving team
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement
  • Provide leadership support for weekend, overtime, and off-hours customer requirements
  • Lead by example and actively promote Astro Pak’s core values

Logistics & Shipping Operations

  • Manage inbound and outbound shipping activities to ensure timely customer deliveries
  • Optimize freight spend while meeting budget targets and delivery expectations
  • Resolve shipping issues, freight claims, and customer concerns professionally and efficiently
  • Coordinate expedited orders and priority changes with Sales and Operations

Inventory & Production Planning

  • Manage inventories for packaging materials, chemicals, consumables, and cleanroom garments
  • Conduct recurring inventory counts and support month-end inventory reconciliation
  • Partner with Purchasing to maintain appropriate stock levels
  • Maintain and prioritize the daily production schedule
  • Track production progress and resolve schedule delays or order holds

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Lead daily production meetings to align priorities and schedules
  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Operations, and Sales to resolve issues quickly
  • Support Change Order Management activities
  • Prepare and report monthly on-time delivery metrics
  • Participate in Cleanroom leadership meetings

Compliance & Safety

  • Support projects in compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws
  • Ensure adherence to quality, safety, compliance, and EHS&R standards
  • Lead resolution of safety-related CAPAs and proactively identify improvement opportunities

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2–5 years of logistics, inventory, shipping/receiving, or production planning experience
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to analyze data, prioritize tasks, and solve problems effectively
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience
  • Supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or technical service industries
  • Familiarity with cleanroom or regulated environments

Work Environment

  • Cleanroom and operational warehouse environment
  • Periodic exposure to noise, dust, fumes, or chemical odors
  • Hands-on operational involvement required

Salary & Benefits

  • The pay for this position has a base salary of $75,000-$85,000. The actual pay will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location.
