The Senior BIM Specialist is a key individual supporting our facilities optimization efforts for a large federal agency located in Bethesda, MD. Our mission is to provide best in class technology to support our client’s equipment, building and operational needs. The Senior BIM Specialist is part of a team of architects, developers, CAFM analysts, and BIM/Revit analysts that together support our Agency mission. The position is a hybrid role based in Bethesda, MD. The salary range for this position is $55,000 to $75,000 based on skills and experience.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic planning for development and implementation of a BIM Program.
- Provide quality assurance plan to maintain the system integrity and compatibility of BIM models meeting industry’s best practices.
- Works closely and coordinates with multiple disciplines, including project managers, clients/representatives, architects, and engineers throughout the design and construction documentation process. Work effectively to design and document architectural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, fire alarm, and fire protection systems using Revit.
- Support NIH project teams with survey of existing conditions of NIH facilities.
- Layout and document the building systems with general guidance under the supervision of the project manager, architect, and engineer.
- Develop model families (primarily Revit families) for general and project-specific needs.
- Work with other modelers, CAD Specialists and Designers to build/manage model databases, templates, and standard procedures.
- Perform quality checks on modeling efforts of others to ensure tools to support upstream engineering or downstream project management.
- Investigate and develop methods to use BIM models or software tools to support BIM requirement development.
- Must be able to perform self and peer quality assurance.
Qualifications:
- Two (2) years of experience using Revit in the development of BIM models for architectural construction.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Revit Architecture, and Autodesk Revit MEP.
- Advanced knowledge in AutoCAD is preferable.
- Background in Architecture, Electrical, or Mechanical systems is preferred.
- Detail-oriented and strong time management skills and excellent team communication skills.
- Adept at working independently and collaboratively and skilled at coordinating and prioritizing multiple projects and tasks.
