A-TEK, Inc. is seeking a mid-level .NET Application Developer to support a contract with a large federal agency located in Bethesda, MD. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of mission-critical applications and systems within a dynamic federal environment.

The Application Developer will play a key role in supporting IT systems and applications for our federal customer, contributing to the full software development lifecycle with an emphasis on delivering scalable, secure, and user-friendly solutions. The ideal candidate will leverage their proficiency in .NET, SharePoint, SQL Server, and modern development frameworks to help our client meet its important public health mission.

NOTE:  This role is fully remote and offers the unique opportunity to work a flexible 30-hour work week with benefits. The salary range for this role is 75,000 to 85,000 per year.  We are not considering C2C employees at this time for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Application Development and Enhancement: Develop and maintain custom applications using.NET and SQL Server to support mission-critical workflows. Ensure all development activities adhere to Section 508 compliance standards and secure coding practices.
    • SharePoint Operations and Customization: Maintain and enhance SharePoint Online and public-facing SharePoint sites. Create custom workflows, dashboards, and forms using Power Automate and SharePoint tools. Implement governance plans that align with NIH security and privacy standards.
    • Agile Development and Collaboration: Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives. Collaborate with business analysts, system architects, and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs. Utilize JIRA for tracking user stories, acceptance criteria, and development tasks.
    • System Maintenance and Security: Perform remedial maintenance, troubleshooting, and security updates on systems and applications. Respond to vulnerability assessments and implement solutions to mitigate risks. Ensure all systems comply with federal IT security standards, including NIST SP 800-53.
    • Technical Documentation and Training: Assist with creation and maintenance of user guides, technical documentation, and training materials. Provide user and administrator training on new functionalities and workflows.

Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred but not required.
    • 3+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on .NET, SQL Server, and web technologies. Proficiency in .NET, C#, SQL Server, Power Automate, and SharePoint development.
    • Experience with Agile development methodologies and DevSecOps practices.
    • Familiarity with Section 508 compliance and secure coding practices.
    • Knowledge of NIH systems and processes is a plus.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
    • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
