Position Summary

A-TEK is seeking a dynamic Agile Lead to champion the adoption of agile principles and guide a high-performing federal health IT team. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring smooth project execution, empowering cross-functional teams, and enabling transformative digital service delivery. The Agile Lead will work in close partnership with the project manager, development team, researchers, scientists, and administrative staff focused on the mission of safeguarding and improving the nation’s health.

This position is based in Bethesda, MD

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a champion of agile methodologies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement across multiple project teams.
  • Lead coaching and mentoring efforts, using workshops and hands-on guidance to deepen agile capabilities.
  • Drive governance and delivery excellence, including performance metrics and knowledge-sharing frameworks.
  • Facilitate executive-level agile coaching, including the strategic integration of generative AI (GenAI) into digital workflows.
  • Collaborate across cross-functional teams to integrate agile delivery with DevSecOps pipelines and cloud-native environments (AWS/Azure).
  • Ensure compliance with federal standards including Section 508, FISMA, HIPAA, and HITECH for all digital services.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in agile delivery, coaching, and digital governance across complex, multi-team environments.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience implementing GenAI, AI, NLP, and LLM technologies in production environments.
  • Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) or equivalent certification earned within the last 5 years.
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Program Consultant (SPC) certification or similar enterprise-level agile credential.
  • Proficient in using Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence) for agile lifecycle and project tracking.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and federal IT standards applicable to digital health services.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience leading Agile transformations in federal health IT programs, such as NIH, FDA, HHS, or VA.
  • Expertise in deploying agile strategies at scale in mission-critical, science-driven environments.

The salary range for this position is $145,000 -$185,000 commensurate with experience.
