Description:
The A’s are hiring a seasonal Bullpen Catcher to assist the team for the 2026 season. The successful candidate will be responsible for catching bullpen sessions for practices, players rehabilitating from injury, and assisting the coaching staff with a variety of on-field activities. The ideal candidate will have high-level baseball catching experience, demonstrate a strong team-first mentality, and maintain a professional attitude throughout the season.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Major League team with catching practice and bullpen sessions for home games as needed.
- Assist the Major League Coaching Staff with preparation and instruction including throwing batting practice, hitting fungos, and assisting with fundamental drills.
- Actively support the Major League Coaching Staff with other daily activities as needed.
- Ensure a positive and professional approach when communicating with players, coaches, and other staff.
- Follow all team guidelines, protocols, and rules set by MLB.
Requirements:
- High level baseball catching experience, ideally in college or professional baseball.
- Ability to catch multiple bullpens daily.
- Ability to bring a positive attitude to the ballpark each day, with a mindset committed to serving the needs of the team.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by the Major League Baseball schedule.
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to effectively catch bullpen sessions, throw batting practice, and hit fungos for practice for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment such as bats, balls, and training equipment, often in variable weather conditions.
- Adequate mobility and physical stamina to engage in field activities and support players during practices and games.
