Description:
The A’s are currently seeking a Minor League Certified Athletic Trainer who will be assigned to our Spring Training Facility in Mesa, AZ. This position will work under the direct supervision of the Minor League Medical Coordinator and alongside the Arizona-based Medical Staff in the management of player healthcare, including but not limited to on-field coverage, prevention, maintenance, evaluation and treatment programs. Responsibilities will be dedicated towards Spring Training, Extended Spring Training, the Arizona Complex League Rookie Team, and Minor League Players on Rehab Assignment. The availability of shorter-term (more seasonal) assignments may be an option with this position.
Responsibilities:
- Provide on-field coverage, prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation techniques for various injuries.
- Daily communication with respective medical, performance, and coaching staff.
- Documentation and recordkeeping using the electronic medical records system (EMR).
- Assisting with and ensuring adherence to daily maintenance and treatment programs for all players.
- Perform various administrative duties as assigned.
- Adhering to and monitoring of Health & Safety Protocols per MLB and the Club.
Requirements:
- NATABOC certified and in good standing.
- Eligible to meet state Licensure requirements.
- CPR/AED certification.
- Strong communication and computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus, but not required.
- Experience working with players from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Prior experience in professional baseball.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand, walk, and actively participate in on-field practices and games for extended periods of time.
- Adequate mobility and physical stamina to engage in field activities and accompany players during practices and games.
