
Lab Supervisor

Quality Supervisor
The Lab Supervisor is critical to the quality of the Atlas Energy. This role will supervise Lab Technicians, Day Lab Technicians and report directly to the Quality Manager or another position as determined by Atlas. Additionally, this role will be interacting heavily with Operations, Logistics and Safety.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the day to day operations of the production QC lab.
- Collect, analyze, and report quality control documents on a weekly, monthly, and yearly basis to both Plant Management and the Quality Manager.
- Develop, write and control documentation related to work instruction, procedures, or any other pertinent documentation related to the quality department.
- Develop corrective and preventative actions, along with developing new testing procedures.
- Accurately report findings to the necessary personnel and complete any necessary documentation.
- Utilize various computer applications to compile, record, and report test results.
- Collect, label, and send various samples to the corporate office and or storage as required.
- Following Atlas Sand, OSHA, and MSHA safety regulations and guidelines.
- Responsible for other tasks within the employees training and skills as directed by the Quality Control Manager.
- Plan and oversee projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget.
- Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan.
- Designate project resources, assist in preparing budgets, monitor progress, and keep stakeholders informed
- Performing general housekeeping with the lab and in work areas.
- Collect, analyze, and report on miscellaneous samples (rainwater, raw materials, waste streams).
- Collects and tests daily samples from mine area.
- Assist with miscellaneous production tasks as directed by Plant Managers including housekeeping, basic labor tasks, etc.
- Working in a physically demanding environment.
Qualifications
- Preferably associates degree in a scientific or mathematical background.
- 3 years of quality control experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multi-task, manage projects, and hit deadlines
- Must have a high level of attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and PowerBI as daily collection, analysis, and reporting of data is required.
- ISO, API and Six Sigma Lean experience a plus.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
- Required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, sit and climb or balance
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to twenty five pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than fifty pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to tolerate conditions associated with no air conditioning or heat
- Capable of working Monday – Friday up to 12 hours per day and covering nights and weekends when needed
