Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Enterprise Data Business Lead to join our growing financial services firm. This Director-level role will be instrumental in shaping and executing our enterprise data strategy, with a focus on governance, control, business / technology change and business enablement. The role sits within the Business Management / COO organization and will partner closely with business management, origination banking and trading desks, and Technology to build a robust data foundation that drives operational efficiency, business growth, regulatory compliance and strategic innovation. This role will be instrumental in embedding strong data foundations at an early stage of the firm’s growth, ensuring long-term scalability, compliance, and competitive advantage.

Primary Responsibilities

Data Governance & Control:

•    Identify and drive enterprise data strategy across the organization
•    Establish and lead enterprise-wide data governance frameworks, policies, and standards
•    Define and document data ownership, definitions, roles/responsibilities and quality controls
•    Partner with Technology and Business partners to define and document data architecture and data lineage
•    Develop and implement data management processes to ensure data integrity and consistency

Business Partnership & Enablement:

•    Lead and guide change across the organization and technology stack to enable our use of data for innovation and growth
•    Collaborate with front-office teams (banking, trading) and business management to identify and prioritize data needs
•    Translate business requirements into actionable data initiatives and partner with Technology to deliver solutions
•    Identify and champion opportunities to leverage data and AI tools to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency

Strategic Delivery & Optimization:

•    Drive early-stage data governance enhancements to maximize firm-wide value as the organization scales
•    Lead efforts to update and optimize source systems to improve data capture and usability
•    Balance short-term tactical wins with long-term strategic data architecture goals

Communication & Leadership:

•    Present data strategy, roadmap, progress, and value to senior stakeholders with clarity and influence
•    Lead cross-functional working groups and foster a culture of data stewardship across the enterprise

Qualification and Experience

•    8+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or enterprise data strategy within financial services
•    Proven success in standing up data governance programs and delivering foundational capabilities such as metadata management, data lineage, data quality, and control frameworks 
•    Strong understanding of front office data needs across origination, banking, trading, and risk functions 
•    Experience balancing strategic planning with tactical execution, including hands-on data mapping, definitions, and process reengineering
•    Experience with data lineage, metadata management, and data quality tools
•    Skilled in stakeholder management, communication, and presentation, with the ability to bridge business and technical audiences
•    Familiarity with AI and automation tools for data processing and analytics
•    Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
•    Ability to operate at both strategic and detailed levels—comfortable defining future state while rolling up sleeves to map data flows


Base Salary Range

$200,000-$250,000

The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed here.
