CG Motion Graphics Artist
Atomic Vancouver is hiring a CG Motion Graphics Artist to join the team!
Atomic Cartoons Inc. is an award-winning animation studio with locations in Vancouver's Mt. Pleasant Animation District, Ottawa's Hintonburg neighborhood and Los Angeles. Since its inception 25 years ago, Atomic Cartoons has created and produced numerous 2D and CG animation productions including Princess Power and Last Kids on Earth. Atomic is well known for its artist-friendly culture and flexible work environment. We are always looking for artists of all levels to join our team!
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Design and animate graphical elements and characters.
- Create graphical overlays on top of rendered CG Animation.
- Participate in department and production meetings as required.
- Take direction from the Art Director.
- Meet deadlines as assigned by production.
- Work closely with the CG Supervisor and Technical Director to establish departmental workflows, while also adhering to existing production workflows.
- Share ideas, collaborate and work closely with all members of the design and lighting/compositing teams.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Prior experience as a designer on a 3D animated series or feature, preferably as a Motion Graphics Artist.
- Experience with creating and animating motion graphics in Adobe After Effects.
- A design portfolio with relevant examples of motion graphics.
- Proficiency with Adobe CC Suite: After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Prior production experience with Cinema 4D.
- A strong grasp of the 3D animation pipeline.
- Excellent visual skills and attention to detail.
- A willingness to work in a team and take direction.
- Prior experience with Maxon Red Giant plugins especially the Trapcode Suite of tools is an asset.
- Prior experience with Blender and/or Maya is an asset.
- Currently legally entitled to work in Canada.
START DATE: December 2024
- Applicants must have resided within BC as of December 31, 2023 and be able to provide the appropriate supporting documents.
- All Atomic employees in this role have the opportunity to work remotely within BC, artists within Vancouver and the Lower Mainland can also choose hybrid and in-studio options.
At Atomic Cartoons and Thunderbird Entertainment, we take into consideration a wide range of compensation factors including background, skills, location, and experience to determine competitive pay. In addition to competitive pay, this position is eligible for company-sponsored benefits including medical, GRSP, vacation pay, paid holiday break, paid leave, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Please note: This expected pay range is for British Columbia and is not applicable to locations outside of the province of British Columbia.
Wage ranges are based on a weekly rate.
Vancouver Pay Range
$1,450 - $1,650 CAD
