Unreal Generalist

We are looking for an Unreal Generalist with a well-rounded skillset and an ability to work across multiple stages of the production for one of our current projects.

Atomic Cartoons Inc. is an award-winning animation studio with locations in Vancouver's Mt. Pleasant Animation District, Ottawa's Hintonburg neighborhood and Los Angeles. Since its inception over 25 years ago, Atomic Cartoons has created and produced numerous 2D and CG animation productions including Princess Power and Last Kids on Earth. Atomic is well known for its artist-friendly culture and flexible work environment. We are always looking for artists of all levels to join our team!

What You Will Do:

• Work across multiple stages of production from assets to shots.
• Assemble interactive scenes, integrate assets, and construct modular environments using project references and concept
• Optimize assets for performance, perform LOD setup, tune occlusion, and manage materials for real-time rendering
• Set up lighting, lookdev, cameras, and animation/rigging systems in Unreal
• Troubleshoot real-time rendering and performance issues.
• Work collaboratively while taking and implementing direction and feedback from the Supervisor and/or Director.
• Deliver timely, high-quality results while adhering to production pipelines and schedules. 

What We Are Looking For

• Prior experience working in a generalist role using Unreal engine.
• Strong technical understanding of Unreal Engine and Blueprint Scripting.
• Working familiarity with Maya and Houdini.
• A Generalist understanding of Look Dev, World Building, Lighting, Cameras and simple FX.
• Experience importing and exporting assets using FBX, USD or Alembic.
• Ability to accept and implement creative changes and adapt to new tools and technologies.
• Excellent verbal, written, and e-social communication skills.
• Currently legally eligible to work in Canada.
