Director, Distribution Sales - Thunderbird Entertainment

Atomic Cartoon's parent company Thunderbird Entertainment a leading producer of television series, specials and movies, seeks an International Television Distribution Sales Executive for its Thunderbird Distribution division.


Atomic Cartoons Inc. is an award-winning animation studio located in Vancouver's Mt. Pleasant Animation District with teams in Ottawa and, Los Angeles. Since its inception over 25 years ago, Atomic Cartoons has created and produced numerous 2D and CG animation productions including Super Team Canada, Princess Power and Last Kids on Earth. WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • License Thunderbird's new and catalog animated and live action series for kids and primetime scripted and reality/factual television series to broadcasters, digital platforms and other media outlets.
  • Maintain relationships with current and potential companies to license the company’s content. Attend major media sales markets and meet with clients in person globally.
  • Focus on markets in EMEA, Latin America and Asia.
  • Negotiate license transactions and draft term sheets.
  • Partner with the Thunderbird business affairs and legal team to review and close agreements.
  • Utilize the company’s MediaRights database to enter and access rights in and out.
  • Work with Thunderbird’s financial group to maximize and monitor revenue opportunities and collect funds on a timely basis.
  • Oversee the delivery of content assets to clients with Thunderbird’s post-production staff and negotiate and supervise local language dubbing.
  • Generate marketing and promotion opportunities to support the company’s content brands with media licensees and coordinate with the company’s consumer products licensees and retailers.
  • Seek new content for the company to acquire and distribute.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Prior recent experience in a Managerial, Director, Vice President or similar role selling premium television content.
  • A passion for content sales.
  • Experience licensing kids; television series in Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and Asia imperative.
  • Knowledge about negotiating sales terms and drafting related documents.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to communicate with a wide variety of people across different roles and departments in-house and people across the world externally.
  • The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities at once.
  • Los Angeles area residents are preferred for this role, however, candidates residing outside this area with relevant experience will be considered.


START DATE: November 2025

At Thunderbird Entertainment, we take into consideration a wide range of compensation factors including background, skills, location, and experience to determine competitive base pay. In addition to competitive base pay, this position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, and a variety of other discounts and perks.

Please note: This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S.

Wage ranges are based on an annual wage

 

LA Pay Range

$175,000 - $185,000 USD
