Technical Recruiter
About Atomic Industries
Atomic Industries is reinventing how the world makes things. From cars and aerospace systems to medical devices and packaging, nearly every physical good begins life in a mold or is shaped by a manufacturing tool. Building those tools has always been slow, manual, and dependent on a shrinking pool of master craftsmen, taking weeks or months per part. We are changing that.
From our Detroit headquarters, we pair the industrial DNA of America’s manufacturing heartland with the speed and precision of frontier AI. Our platform attacks the hardest problems in geometry, process planning, and fabrication, collapsing production timelines from months to days, and soon to minutes. We don’t just write software: we run a real, fully operational factory that ships production-grade tooling every week, giving us tight feedback loops most companies only dream about.
Backed by top-tier investors, we are here to restore speed, flexibility, and capability to the American industrial base and to make manufacturing as agile and scalable as the digital world. Reindustrialization is the mission. The talent we hire is how we win.
The Role
This is our first dedicated recruiting hire, and it is one of the most important bets we will make this year. You will own how Atomic finds, courts, and closes exceptional people, and you will build the talent function from the ground up: the pipelines, the playbooks, the tooling, and eventually the team around you.
We are looking for a tech-enabled, terminally online operator. You live where great talent actually spends its time—on X, in Discords and group chats, in niche Slacks and subreddits, at demo days and hackathons—and you know how to turn a cold DM into a signed offer. You treat sourcing like an engineering problem: instrumented, automated, and relentlessly optimized. You have extremely high agency and need almost no direction to go from “we need to hire this” to “they start Monday.”
If you want to be one recruiter of fifty inside a mature machine, this isn’t it. If you want to build the machine, and grow into leading it, read on.
What You’ll Do
- Own full-cycle recruiting across the company, from the first touch to the signed offer, for roles spanning engineering, manufacturing, operations, and leadership.
- Build Atomic’s sourcing engine from scratch: outbound strategy, talent maps, referral loops, and a modern automation and AI tooling stack that lets one person do the work of a team.
- Go where the talent is. Meet elite engineers and operators online and in person, and be a magnetic ambassador for the mission and for American reindustrialization.
- Travel to meet candidates where they are, host them at our Detroit factory, and turn a plant tour into the moment they decide to bet their career on Atomic.
- Design a candidate experience so sharp and so fast that people tell their friends about it whether or not they get the job.
- Partner directly with the founder and hiring managers to define what “great” looks like for each role and hold a high, uncompromising bar.
- Instrument the funnel. Track conversion at every stage, run experiments, and use data to make our hiring faster and better every single week.
- Lay the foundation of the talent function—its process, tooling, and brand—and hire and lead the recruiters who come after you.
Who You Are
- You have a track record of full-cycle recruiting and sourcing hard-to-find talent, ideally in a high-growth startup, hardtech, defense, or manufacturing environment. Years of experience matter less than a portfolio of people you’ve closed.
- You are genuinely, natively online. You understand modern channels and internet culture and use them fluently to find and win people others can’t reach.
- You are fluent with tooling and automation—ATS, sourcing tools, scripts, and AI—and you would rather build a repeatable system than grind the same task twice.
- You have extremely high agency. You are an owner and an operator who is comfortable with ambiguity, moves fast, and does not wait to be told what to do.
- You have exceptional taste in people and the judgment to hold a high bar under pressure to hire.
- You are a persuasive, high-integrity communicator who can make a skeptical, world-class candidate believe in the mission.
- You are hungry to build a function and a team, not just fill a seat, and you want the ownership and the upside that come with being first.
- You are fired up about reindustrializing America and making it possible to build hard things quickly again.
Location & Travel
Remote is welcome. We care about output and reach, not your zip code, and we will happily work with strong candidates wherever they are based.
Travel is a real and recurring part of this role. You should expect to travel regularly to meet candidates in person, attend the events where top talent gathers, and bring finalists to our Detroit headquarters to experience the factory and the team firsthand. If you love being on the ground and in the room where hiring actually gets won, you’ll thrive here.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary and a meaningful equity stake in a company building the future of American manufacturing.
- Full medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your dependents.
- 401(k).
- PTO with a 20-day minimum.
- The chance to build a talent function from zero, work shoulder to shoulder with the founder, and own one of the highest-leverage roles in the company.
Atomic Industries is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building a team that reflects a wide range of backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences.
