Facilities Maintenance Technician
About The Role:
Under the direction of the Facilities Supervisor, the Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of all industrial equipment, including HVAC, chiller/cooling systems, nitrogen generator, air compressors and DI water systems. Overseeing maintenance programs, including inspection, cleaning or removing debris, and overseeing contracted services; performing all regular scheduled or unscheduled electrical, mechanical, and plumbing maintenance to the interior or exterior of the facility.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on critical industrial systems.
- Maintain appropriate spares and consumables inventory to sustain facility industrial systems.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and service HVAC systems, chiller/cooling systems, nitrogen generators, air compressors, and DI water systems.
- Ensure all equipment operates efficiently and minimizes downtime.
- Oversee preventive maintenance programs, including inspections, cleaning, debris removal, and system testing.
- Coordinate and manage contracted services for specialized maintenance or repairs.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, schedules, and service logs.
- Conduct scheduled and emergency repairs to electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
- Perform diagnostic checks, system adjustments, and part replacements as needed.
- Ensure all work complies with safety codes, regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain the facility’s interior and exterior through regular upkeep and repairs.
- Respond quickly to facility-related issues to prevent operational disruptions.
- Support energy efficiency and reliability through regular inspections and proactive improvements.
- Travel between offices in Emeryville and Santa Clara on an as needed basis.
What you’ll need:
- 5+ years of experience with facility maintenance and support.
- High school diploma, extra points for 2 year technical degree in applicable area of expertise.
- Strong hands-on experience with facility equipment.
- Solid experience diagnosing and repairing a wide range of equipment.
- Ability to perform thorough inspections and maintenance to keep equipment running smoothly.
- Knowledge of and commitment to safety standards and practices in a technical environment.
- Positive, solutions-oriented approach to challenges, and a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Ability to maintain clear, concise, and accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and equipment performance.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, lift, twist, climb, reach, stand, and walk during an 8-hour shift; perform repetitive hand motions; and lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally move items over 100 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Hourly Rate Range
$35 - $50 USD
