Contract Hardware & Robotics Recruiter

Emeryville, California
Atomic Machines is ushering in a new era of micromanufacturing with its Matter Compiler™ technology platform. This platform enables new classes of micromachines to be designed and built by providing manufacturing processes and a materials library that are inaccessible to semiconductor manufacturing methods. It unlocks MEMS manufacturing not only for device classes that could never be produced by semiconductor methods, but also for entirely new categories. Furthermore, this digital platform is fully programmable in the way 3D printing is digital—but whereas 3D printing produces parts of a single material using a single process, the Matter Compiler™ technology platform is a multi-process, multi-material system: bits and raw materials go in, and complete, functional micromachines come out. The Atomic Machines team has also created an exciting first device—made possible only through the Matter Compiler™ technology platform—that we will be unveiling to the world soon.

Our offices are in Emeryville and Santa Clara, California.

About The Role:

This isn’t your typical recruiting gig—it’s hands-on, high-velocity, and deeply rewarding. We’re building technology the world hasn’t seen before: lasers, CT scanners, embedded systems, and high-precision manufacturing tools. Every hire here moves the needle on something that’s never been done before.

We’ve been in stealth for five years, and every role we fill is hard-won. The bar is high—but fair, transparent, and technical. You’ll learn fast by working shoulder-to-shoulder with our senior recruiters and engineering leaders who know what world-class hiring looks like.

As a Contract Robotics Recruiter, you’ll be on the front lines of hiring across our core technical disciplines—mechanical design, embedded systems, and electrical engineering. You’ll dive deep into the technology, speak credibly with candidates, and help close exceptional engineers who thrive on solving hard problems.

You’ll partner closely with our recruiting and engineering teams to own searches end-to-end—from sourcing to offer—and help build the foundation of a hardware startup that’s scaling fast. We operate as one team, no silos. If you’re hungry, curious, and ready to learn from the best, you’ll thrive here.

What You’ll Do:

    • Source exceptional candidates and guide them through every stage—from first outreach to close—owning the process end-to-end for mechanical, embedded, and electrical engineering roles.
    • Craft smart, targeted outreach to engage top passive talent across hardware, robotics, and advanced manufacturing.
    • Get close to the tech—learn directly from our engineers so you can credibly assess candidates and sell the mission authentically.
    • Deliver a great candidate experience, ensuring clear, consistent communication at every stage.
    • Source directly and strategically, keeping a steady pipeline of exceptional hardware engineers.
    • Partner tightly with hiring managers to design an interview process that reflects our technical rigor and values.
    • Improve as you go—refine tools, metrics, and workflows to boost recruiting speed and quality.
    • Stay agile. Priorities shift fast here—adapt quickly, execute fast, and help us build what’s next..

What You’ll Need:

    • 7+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with a focus on hardware engineering roles (mechanical, embedded, and/or electrical).
    • 2+ years as a contract recruiter, ideally within a high-growth startup environment.
    • Proven sourcing chops—you know how to find and engage top passive talent with creative, high-response outreach.
    • Closer’s instinct. You proactively guide candidates from first contact through offer acceptance with persistence, clarity, and finesse.
    • Ownership mindset. You treat the work like it’s yours—hands-on, resourceful, accountable, and committed to delivering results.
    • Technical curiosity. You ask smart questions, dig into complex products, and build real fluency in the technology.
    • Onsite presence in Emeryville, working directly with engineers and hiring managers — with potential for a hybrid schedule after 60 days.
    • Strong multitasker who can manage multiple searches while keeping quality high.
    • Exceptional written communication—concise, error-free, and tailored to break through the noise.
    • Bachelor’s degree required.
