Training & Education Manager, China

Position Summary

The Training & Education Manager, China is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive internal and external education programs supporting AtriCure therapies across China.

The role will serve as a key partner to Commercial, Marketing, and Therapy Development teams to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality education programs that enhance clinical adoption, therapy awareness, and commercial effectiveness.

In addition to internal employee development, this position will lead physician education initiatives including workshops, webinars, faculty development programs, center-of-excellence collaborations, and digital learning solutions designed to improve customer competency and therapy adoption.

SECTION 1: PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

  • Develop and execute annual Training & Education strategies aligned with the China commercial and therapy development objectives.
  • Deliver structured onboarding, competency development, and continuous learning programs for internal employees.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate physician education initiatives that support adoption of AtriCure therapies.
  • Establish scalable digital learning solutions to increase educational reach and learning effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with local and regional stakeholders to ensure consistent, compliant, and high-quality educational activities.
  • Measure program effectiveness through defined KPIs and continuously improve educational outcomes.

SECTION 2: ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. STRATEGIC TRAINING & EDUCATION PLANNING

Annual Training Strategy

  • Develop annual China T&E plans and training calendars aligned with business priorities.
  • Identify training gaps and competency needs across sales, clinical, and customer segments.
  • Establish measurable objectives and KPIs for all education programs.
  • Support new product launches and therapy expansion initiatives through targeted education plans.

Internal Training Programs

  • Lead onboarding and certification programs for new hires.
  • Conduct refresher training programs for commercial and clinical teams.
  • Collaborate with Global and APAC T&E teams to localize training content.
  • Support development of field coaching and competency assessment programs.
  • Maintain learning records and training compliance requirements.
  1. PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION & PHYSICIAN DEVELOPMENT

HCP Education Programs

  • Plan and execute physician education activities including:
    • Didactic programs
    • Hands-on workshops
    • Dry-lab simulation training
    • Proctorship programs
    • Training village activities
  • Support education programs for:
    • Cardiac Surgeons
    • Electrophysiologists
    • Cardiologists
    • OR Nurses
    • Allied Healthcare Professionals

Center of Excellence (CoE) Development

  • Identify and support development of key training centers across China.
  • Collaborate with CoE faculty to establish standardized training pathways.
  • Coordinate site visits, case observation, and proctorship programs.
  • Ensure training programs align with therapy adoption objectives.

Faculty Development

  • Identify potential faculty candidates and future speakers.
  • Support faculty onboarding and capability development.
  • Maintain faculty engagement plans and training records.
  • Collaborate with Commercial and MKT teams on faculty strategy.
  1. DIGITAL EDUCATION & NEW INITIATIVES

Webinar Programs

  • Develop and manage a structured annual webinar series covering:
    • Clinical evidence updates
    • Therapy adoption best practices
    • New technologies and product innovations
    • Case-based learning
    • Guideline interpretation and implementation
  • Coordinate speakers, content development, promotion, execution, and post-event analytics.

Digital Learning Platform

  • Lead implementation and maintenance of digital learning tools for physicians and internal employees.
  • Collaborate with Global PE and APAC MKT to develop:
    • E-learning modules
    • On-demand training content
    • Video libraries
    • Interactive clinical education resources
  • Drive learner engagement and completion rates through innovative learning approaches.

Educational Innovation

  • Introduce new educational initiatives that increase learning effectiveness and engagement.
  • Develop mobile-friendly learning resources.
  • Explore AI-enabled learning tools and digital education solutions where appropriate.
  • Support creation of localized China-specific learning content.

Knowledge Sharing Programs

  • Manage Journal Club initiatives.
  • Develop quarterly knowledge assessment programs.
  • Create Clinical Nuggets and educational newsletters.
  • Maintain repositories of educational resources and reference materials.
  1. CADET & TRAINING ASSET MANAGEMENT
  • Manage deployment and utilization of CADet platforms within China.
  • Maintain training inventory and simulation equipment.
  • Coordinate repairs, upgrades, and replacement of training assets.
  • Support logistics for workshops, conferences, and training villages.
  • Track utilization metrics and provide periodic reporting.
  1. PROGRAM EXECUTION & OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE

Event & Program Management

  • Lead planning and execution of educational events from initiation through completion.
  • Ensure consistent branding and participant experience across all programs.
  • Develop and maintain standardized templates and execution checklists.

Program Evaluation

  • Implement participant feedback and assessment processes.
  • Analyze educational outcomes and program effectiveness.
  • Utilize data to continuously improve future activities.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Develop training dashboards and performance reports.
  • Track key metrics including:
    • Program attendance
    • Learning completion
    • Faculty participation
    • Therapy adoption impact
    • Customer engagement indicators
  • Provide regular updates to China and APAC leadership teams.
  1. CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION
  • Partner closely with:
    • Sales
    • Therapy Development
    • Marketing
    • APAC T&E Team
  • Ensure all educational activities comply with company policies and local regulations.
  • Support strategic projects and special initiatives as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in medical device, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or professional education functions.
  • Experience managing physician education programs and medical training activities.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and facilitation capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with KOLs and healthcare professionals.
  • Experience with digital learning platforms and webinar management preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and virtual learning technologies.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 30-50%.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in Cardiac Surgery, Electrophysiology, Structural Heart, or related cardiovascular therapies.
  • Experience establishing Centers of Excellence and faculty development programs.
  • Certification or experience in adult learning methodologies.
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and digital education platforms.
  • Demonstrated success in building physician education strategies that support therapy adoption.
