Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Workday Integrations Developer with strong experience in gathering business and technical requirements. The ideal candidate will play a dual role—owning the development of Workday integrations while also leading discovery and documentation sessions to ensure stakeholder needs are translated into technical deliverables. This contractor will work closely with HR, Finance, and IT stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and efficient Workday integration solutions.
Job Responsibilities
- Integration Development
- Design, develop, test, and deploy Workday integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, and Web Services (REST/SOAP).
- Build and maintain integrations between Workday and third-party systems (e.g., payroll, benefits, ERP, learning systems).
- Monitor and support integrations, ensuring accurate data flow and timely error resolution.
- Apply security and compliance best practices across integration layers.
- Requirements Gathering & Analysis
- Conduct stakeholder interviews, discovery workshops, and process reviews to capture detailed business requirements.
- Translate business needs into technical documentation and functional specifications.
- Collaborate with functional leads and architects to design scalable integration solutions.
- Provide input to test plans and support user acceptance testing (UAT).
Required Skills
- 3+ years of hands-on Workday integration development experience.
- Strong knowledge of Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, Workday Web Services (SOAP/REST), XSLT, and XTT.
- Proven experience gathering and documenting business and technical requirements.
- Solid understanding of HCM, Payroll, or Financials functional domains.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interface directly with stakeholders.
- Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, or similar tools for documentation and tracking.
- Experience with 1099 engagements or operating as an independent consultant.
Preferred Qualifications
- Workday certification in Integrations, Studio, or another relevant domain.
- Experience in Workday Extend or Prism a plus.
- Prior consulting experience with multiple clients or across industries.
- Background in data governance or data architecture is a plus.
