Attain Partners is seeking an experienced Migration & Integration Developer to support data migration and integration initiatives for Higher Education clients, with a strong emphasis on Advancement and fundraising systems. This role is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and executing SQL-based data migrations and integrations between legacy Advancement platforms, institutional databases, and Salesforce environments. The ideal candidate has deep SQL development expertise, hands-on Salesforce configuration experience, and a strong understanding of Higher Education Advancement data, business processes, and system architecture. All migration and integration development will be performed primarily using SQL and database-native technologies, rather than integration platforms such as MuleSoft or Boomi. Candidates must be comfortable building and maintaining data pipelines, transformation logic, staging tables, stored procedures, and integration processes directly within database environments. The developer will collaborate with technical architects, functional consultants, and client stakeholders to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and successful delivery of migration and integration solutions.

Required Skills

  • Advanced SQL Development: Strong hands-on experience writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, functions, joins, transformations, and data validation scripts.
  • Higher Education Experience: Previous experience working with colleges, universities, or university foundations on enterprise data initiatives.
  • Advancement Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of fundraising, donor management, gift processing, alumni relations, constituent management, and Advancement business processes.
  • Salesforce Configuration: Hands-on experience navigating and configuring Salesforce, including standard and custom objects, fields, relationships, validation rules, flows, and data models.
  • SQL-Based Data Migration: Experience developing extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes using SQL, including staging tables, source-to-target mappings, data transformations, reconciliation, and incremental data loads.
  • SQL-Based Data Integration: Experience building and supporting database-driven integrations, including scheduled data exchanges, incremental updates, error handling, and monitoring.
  • Data Mapping & Transformation: Ability to interpret source-to-target mapping specifications and translate business requirements into executable SQL transformation logic.
  • Data Quality & Validation: Experience developing reconciliation queries, duplicate identification logic, record-count validation, and exception reporting.
  • Database Expertise: Strong working knowledge of relational database technologies, including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
  • Troubleshooting: Ability to independently diagnose and resolve data, SQL performance, transformation, and integration issues.
  • Client Collaboration: Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with client technical and functional teams.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with Higher Education Advancement platforms, such as Ellucian Advance, Kindsight ascend, Blackbaud CRM/Raiser's Edge, Banner Advancement, or Salesforce Education Cloud.
  • Familiarity with Advancement data structures, including constituents, households, relationships, gifts, pledges, payments, designations, campaigns, and recognition credits.
  • Experience migrating legacy Advancement platforms to Salesforce or Kindsight ascend.
  • Experience with Salesforce Data Loader, Bulk API, and Salesforce data import/export processes.
  • Experience with Salesforce SOQL and Salesforce object relationships.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Agent, or equivalent database scheduling technologies.
  • Experience developing reusable SQL scripts, data migration frameworks, and automated validation processes.
  • Understanding of data governance, data stewardship, data quality, and master data management principles.
  • Experience supporting mock migrations, user acceptance testing (UAT), cutover, and production deployments.
  • Familiarity with Git or other source control solutions for managing SQL development.

Years of Experience

  • 5+ years of professional experience in SQL development, database development, data migration, or data integration.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting Higher Education institutions, preferably within Advancement, fundraising, or alumni relations.
  • 2+ years of hands-on Salesforce experience, including data model configuration, data loading, and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated experience completing at least one enterprise data migration or integration initiative involving a Higher Education Advancement system.
