Job Description

The Aberdeen IronBirds, an Attain Sports team, are the Advanced-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, operating in founders Bill and Cal Ripken, Jr.’s home town. Elevated to a full-season club in 2021, the IronBirds are excited to offer career opportunities for new or experienced sports professionals.  

The IronBirds are seeking a well-qualified individual for the role of Director, Corporate Partnerships. Reporting to the General Manager, this role oversees the sale, fulfillment, and renewal of Corporate Partnerships for the Aberdeen IronBirds and Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium. The Director will oversee a Corporate Partnerships Activation Coordinator who will assist in the sale and fulfillment of Partner marketing opportunities as well as seasonal intern(s) for fulfillment of Partnerships during the IronBirds season. This role is the lifeblood of the business relationships that the IronBirds hold within the community of Harford County, as well as how the Corporate Partnerships department succeeds in relation to internal stakeholders.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage and renew existing partner relationships
  • Develop new partners to maximize revenue associated with in-park Partner Marketing and Partner Hospitality/Ticket Sales
  • Report monthly, or more often if necessary, throughout the year to the General Manager on sales forecasts and new business development 
  • Work closely with Ticket department to sell and fulfill Partner ticketing and hospitality needs
  • Liaison with food and beverage to establish mutually beneficial partnerships with local, regional, and national food brands for exposure and sale in Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium
  • Solicit bids for, and manage execution of, fulfillment of inventory by 3rd-party vendors as necessary including signage, promotional items, in-game entertainment resources, and more.
  • Manage the Play Ball digital program for fan entertainment marketing and promotion of organic team content in-park during IronBirds games
  • Develop new and innovative inventory based on industry trends and market needs for sale to new and existing partners
  • Work all regular-season IronBirds home games to manage fulfillment and client entertainment needs
  • Other duties as assigned by the General Manager and/or ownership

 

Required Skills

  • Bachelors Degree in sports management, business administration, or related field
  • 3-5 years sales experience in sales of sports corporate partnerships, Entertainment/Hospitality, or equivalent
  • Experience managing and training subordinates in successful sales and activation strategies
  • Strong interpersonal communications and relationship building skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong grasp on industry trends in sports marketing 
  • Working knowledge of or previous experience with ticketing and CRM software (Hubspot specifically) preferred but not required

Attain Partners is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This job’s financial compensation range is between $50,000 and $75,000 inclusive of base salary, commission, and potential bonuses.
