The Frederick Keys are a founding member of the newly organized MLB Draft League. Frederick is a market of 290,000+ people that sits about 45 min from both Baltimore and Washington D.C. We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated professional to join our team as the operation moves forward with the ownership of Attain Sports and Entertainment, also the parent company of the Baltimore Orioles Double A-Affiliate Bowie Baysox and Single A-Affiliate Aberdeen Ironbirds.

Interns working for The Keys during the upcoming season will have the opportunity to learn every aspect of the business of baseball and gain experience that will be valuable in full time employment in any sports organization.

 

Positions Include:

  • Broadcast Internship
    • Qualifications
      • College sophomores, juniors, seniors, or graduate students working for academic credit in Sport Management, Journalism, or Broadcasting.
      • Thorough knowledge of the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
      • Adobe Premiere Pro, Audition, and InDesign knowledge is preferred
      • Individual must be energetic, enthusiastic, and a dedicated team player
      • Individual must handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and achieve objectives
      • Ability to work event nights, weekends, and holidays as required (up to 40 games)
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
      • Ability to pay attention to details
    • General Responsibilities
      • Assist in compiling footage and highlights for the Multimedia Assistant to create in-game highlight reels
      • Learn and assist with game day operation of the press box and broadcast booth
      • Available to work most Frederick Keys home games, as directed by the Broadcast Manager and Senior Marketing and Gameday Manager
      • Assist in the preparation of gameday materials such as statistical packets, press credentials, and lineup cards
      • Assist in the preparation of other press box media accommodations (internet/phone access, meals, and cleanliness) for each home game
      • Clip and post highlights onto the X platform during games
      • Post live updates during home games onto the X platform
      • Participate in on-air segments, as directed by the Broadcast Manager
      • Other duties as assigned
  • Gameday and Fan Experience Intern
    • Qualifications
      • College sophomores, juniors, seniors, or graduate students working for academic credit in Sport Management, Marketing, Communication, or Business
      • Ability to work event nights, weekends, and holidays as required
      • A customer service background is preferred
      • Ability to uphold company and Attain customer service standards
      • Individual must be energetic, enthusiastic, and a dedicated team player
      • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, and eager to contribute to an exciting game day atmosphere
      • Creative and enthusiastic with fresh ideas on how to enhance the fan experience
    • General Responsibilities
      • Engage with fans and improve fan experience in real-time based on feedback
      • Learn and improve customer service skills in a sports environment
      • Gain knowledge and familiarity in planning and executing fan experience and fan touchpoints
      • Work Frederick Keys home games as directed by the Senior Marketing and Gameday Manager
      • Spend time shadowing and learning from top-tier marketing and press box staff, as directed by the Senior Marketing and Gameday Manager
      • Assist with the execution of outside events such as Scout Night and Baseball Camp
      • Represent the organization, as needed, at outside events and appearances
      • Represent the organization, as needed, as our mascot Keyote
      • As part of a group, pitch an improvement or addition for a current theme night. If chosen, adhere to a timeline, assist with creation of a game script, and execute a show in house.
      • Execute pre-game, in-game, and post-game promotions
      • Help raise money for the Keys Care charity via 50-50 raffle
      • Engage with fans and ensure top customer service throughout the stadium
      • Assist with the coordination and execution of theme nights
      • Work in all aspects of minor league baseball to gain an understanding of the business
      • Work with ushers and Keyote to encourage fan interest and excitement in the game during key moments
      • Assist with organization and execution of Kids Run the Bases after every home game
      • Other duties as assigned
  • Marketing Intern
    • Qualifications
      • College sophomores, juniors, seniors, or graduate students working for academic credit in Sport Management or Marketing.
      • Thorough knowledge of the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
      • Have experience with Facebook, Instagram, X, and other social media platforms
      • Have some experience with Adobe Photoshop
      • Ability to uphold company and Attain customer service standards
      • Individual must be energetic, enthusiastic, and a dedicated team player
      • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, and strong organization skills
      • Ability to work event nights, weekends, and holidays as required
      • Eager to listen, learn, and receive constructive feedback
    • General Responsibilities
      • Promote the Keys various events and promotions in the community through the distribution of marketing materials and pocket schedules.
      • Assist with social media coverage of outside public appearances and events
      • Gain knowledge and experience in management and responsibilities of marketing a professional sports team
      • Work Frederick Keys home games as directed by the Senior Marketing and Gameday Manager
      • Spend time shadowing and learning from top-tier marketing and press box staff, as directed by the Senior Marketing and Gameday Manager
      • Represent the organization, as needed, at outside events and appearances
      • Represent the organization, as needed, as our mascot Keyote
      • Assist with the planning and execution of outside events such as Scout Night and Baseball Camp
      • As part of a group, pitch an improvement or addition for a current theme night. If chosen, adhere to a timeline, assist with creation of a game script, and execute a show in house.
      • Assist with social media coverage of home Frederick Keys games
      • Work as a handler of our mascot Keyote to ensure he makes his marks and cues
      • Help raise money for the Keys Care charity via wheel of fun
      • Engage with fans and ensure top customer service throughout the stadium
      • Assist with the coordination, execution, and promotion of theme nights
      • Work in all aspects of minor league baseball to gain an understanding of the business.
      • Assist with gate entry giveaways, as needed
      • Assist with exit giveaways, as needed
      • Other duties as assigned
  • Sales Intern
    • Qualifications
      • College sophomores, juniors, seniors, or graduate students working for academic credit in Sport Management, Business Management, Sales, or Marketing.
      • Thorough knowledge of the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
      • Ability to uphold company and Attain customer service standards
      • Individual must be energetic, enthusiastic, and a dedicated team player
      • Excellent interpersonal skills
      • Ability to work event nights, weekends, and holidays as required
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
      • Ability to pay attention to details
    • General Responsibilities
      • Assist in grass roots advertising and prospecting for group events
      • Gain knowledge and experience in servicing group and sponsorship clients
      • Gain experience in clear and friendly phone manners
      • Work Frederick Keys home games as directed by the Senior Marketing and Gameday Manager and Director of Revenue
      • Spend time shadowing and learning from top-tier Group Sales Account Managers and Sponsorship Sales Account Manager as directed by the Director of Revenue
      • Represent the organization, as needed, at outside events and appearances
      • Research and identify potential clients and groups for group events and sponsorship
      • Assist with the set-up and take down of booked hospitality areas
      • Assist in taking photos of in-game sponsorship elements
      • Host and attend to group birthday parties
      • Host and attend to group hospitality spaces including suites and picnics
      • Meet, grow, and maintain relationships with key sponsors during games and events
      • Meet and engage with groups located in the seating bowl to ensure superior fan experience
      • Engage with fans and ensure top customer service at Guest Services
      • Assist with the execution of paid on-field groups such as Anthem Buddies, National Anthems, color guard, and parades.

  • Stadium Operations Intern
    • Qualifications
      • College sophomores, juniors, seniors, or graduate students working for academic credit in Sport Management, Facility Management, or similar fields.
      • Ability to work event nights, weekends, and holidays as required
      • Safe operation of small engine equipment (leaf blower, string trimmers, etc.)
      • Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work on foot for long periods of time
      • Organized individual who can complete tasks in a timely manner
    • General Responsibilities
      • Assist in facility preparation for home games, as assigned by Stadium Operations Manager
      • Assist with tarp pulls when weather requires field to be covered
      • Aid in daily operation and maintenance of a 5,000-seat ballpark
      • Gain knowledge and familiarity in planning and executing events within our facility, general facility upkeep, and inventory or ordering of supplies
      • Work Frederick Keys home games as directed by the Stadium Operations Manager
      • Spend time shadowing and learning from top-tier operations and grounds staff, as directed by the Stadium Operations Manager
      • Assist with the set-up and break down of non-game events held at the stadium
      • Assist with the execution of outside events such as Scout Night and Baseball Camp
      • Prepare stadium for game day including, but not limited to, wiping down counter tops, checking fixtures for malfunctions, maintenance, and other duties as assigned
      • Assist with the set-up, take down, and operation of the fun zone, as required
      • Work with the marketing and sales teams to execute promotions
      • Engage with fans and improve stadium experience in real-time based on feedback
      • Work with the operations team to ensure the ballpark is operating in a safe and efficient manner
      • Assist with set-up and take-down of parking barriers as well as assist with parking needs, as required
      • Assist with organization and execution of Kids Run the Bases after every home game
      • Other duties as assigned
  • Box Office Intern
    • Qualifications
      • College sophomores, juniors, seniors, or graduate students working for academic credit in Sport Management, Business Management, Sales, or Marketing.
      • Thorough knowledge of the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
      • Ability to uphold company and Attain customer service standards
      • Individual must be energetic, enthusiastic, and a dedicated team player
      • Excellent interpersonal skills
      • Ability to work event nights, weekends, and holidays as required
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    • General Responsibilities
      • Assist in preparation of gameday ticketing needs
      • Gain knowledge and experience in servicing group and individual tickets
      • Gain experience in clear and friendly phone manners
      • Work Frederick Keys home games as directed by the Senior Marketing and Gameday Manager and Box Office Manager
      • Spend time shadowing and learning from Box Office Manager
      • Represent the organization, as needed, at outside events and appearances
      • Place group events, season ticket plans, and individual ticket purchases into TicketReturn
      • Assist with the preparation of the Box Office for Gameday.
      • Assist in working Box Office windows
      • Assist in tracking and documentation of redeemed vouchers and codes
      • Engage with fans and ensure top customer service at Box Office
      • Other duties as assigned
