Additionally, Attain Sports is an owner of the United Soccer League (USL) Championship Club Loudoun United FC.

Job Description

The Paid Media & Digital Advertising Intern will play a critical role in optimizing digital campaign performance across three Attain Sports organizations: the Chesapeake Baysox (Double-A Affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles), Frederick Keys (High-A of the Baltimore Orioles), and Aberdeen IronBirds (MLB Draft League Team). This role focuses on revenue-generating marketing through paid social media, digital ad placements, audience targeting, and conversion tracking.


Working directly with the Marketing Manager, this intern will help plan, execute, and analyze paid campaigns that drive ticket sales, merchandise revenue, database growth, and fan engagement. This hands-on position provides practical experience in sports media buying, analytics, and performance marketing strategy.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Advertising Campaign Management
    • Assist in building, launching, and optimizing paid media campaigns across Meta, Google, and other digital platforms
    • Ensure campaign creative aligns with brand identity and sales objectives
    • Work within advertising timelines related to homestands, theme nights, and seasonal priorities
  • Audience Targeting & Market Research
    • Help identify and refine high-value fan segments using geographic, demographic, and behavioral data
    • Support retargeting and lookalike audience strategies to maximize conversion potential
    • Monitor competitor activity and market trends to inform campaign messaging
  • Performance Reporting & Optimization
    • Compile weekly pacing and performance reports focused on cost per result, ROAS, CPM, and CTR
    • Conduct creative and messaging A/B tests to improve efficiency and engagement
    • Provide strategic insights and recommendations for campaign improvements
  • Cross-Department Collaboration
    • Work closely with sales, merchandising, and email teams to build full-funnel revenue strategies
    • Support real-time optimizations during live events when ads influence gameday turnout
    • Contribute to the creation of digital assets where applicable
    • Assist with real-time marketing needs when required

 

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Data Analytics, or related field
  • Interest in digital marketing, sports media buying, and performance analytics
  • Familiarity with Meta Business Manager, Google Ads, or reporting dashboards preferred
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret campaign data and trends
  • Highly organized and proactive with strong attention to detail
