Vice President, Security & Event Management Consulting
Location: Remote (U.S.) | Travel: 25–50% Domestic & International
Reports to: Senior Vice President, Business Integration & Consulting
Attain Talent is leading the recruitment for a Vice President or Security & Event Management Consulting position for our client in the event services space. The Vice President of Security & Event Management Consulting will be responsible for leading and scaling consulting and event operations functions. This executive will oversee a large portfolio of high-profile clients, ensure flawless event execution, and build a world-class team of operational leaders. The ideal candidate combines strategic vision with hands-on leadership, thrives in complex environments, and has a proven ability to drive efficiency, consistency, and measurable client outcomes at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Scale
- Define and implement a consulting operating model, including service tiers, processes, and delivery standards.
- Further develop a comprehensive playbook covering all phases of event management: discovery, planning, budgeting, design, staffing, execution, and post-event review.
- Build and manage a high-performing, multi-location operations team capable of executing multiple concurrent engagements.
- Drive operational readiness and standardization across all project types, ensuring scalability as the company grows.
Client Relationship Management & Outcomes
- Serve as executive sponsor for major clients, maintaining strong relationships with security, operations, and production leaders.
- Lead quarterly or annual business reviews, operational improvement initiatives, and renewal/expansion discussions.
- Personally oversee key programs, providing hands-on guidance in planning, budgeting, and onsite execution.
- Oversee project budgets in each engagement actively communicating them with clients while delivering first class value for services.
- Ensure client success metrics - including guest experience, safety, and satisfaction - are consistently achieved.
Operational Oversight & Team Coaching
- Lead and mentor Event Directors, Event Staffing Managers and Project Operations personnel to drive continuous improvement.
- Review and enhance deliverables such as event security plans, crowd management plans, emergency action plans, incident management plans, access and accreditation plans, event staffing plans, incident logs, and after-action reports.
- Develop and enforce operational standards for ingress, crowd management, security screening, and incident response.
- Establish operator certification and coaching programs to build bench strength and leadership depth.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Development
- Design and execute recruiting strategies to attract top-tier operational talent across the U.S. and internationally.
- Build a diverse and scalable network of full-time employees, part-time staff, and vetted 1099 contractors.
- Develop vendor partnerships and performance-based SLAs with solutions, staffing and technology partners.
- Implement clear career pathways, recognition programs, and training initiatives to retain top talent.
Financial Management & Forecasting
- Own P&L performance for the division, ensuring margin targets and budget compliance.
- Establish forecasting processes for labor, travel, and project expenses.
- Optimize cost structures through vendor negotiation, efficient staffing mixes, and streamlined logistics.
Technology & Data Enablement
- Drive adoption of technology platforms that improve real-time visibility into operations and performance metrics.
- Ensure accurate data collection and reporting to support decision-making and client reporting.
- Collaborate with other partners on security technology integration and readiness.
Risk, Compliance, and Brand Stewardship
- Ensure all operations comply with relevant local, state, and federal laws, as well as venue specific requirements.
- Promote a safety-first culture and ensure zero critical incidents.
- Represent brand values in all client and venue interactions.
Qualifications & Experience
- 10–15+ years of progressive leadership experience in event security, large-scale crowd management, or venue operations.
- Demonstrated success leading large, multi-disciplinary teams across multiple geographies.
- Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver exceptional service in high pressure environments.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in pricing, P&L management, and operational forecasting.
- Expertise in ingress/egress planning, event staffing models, and vendor orchestration.
- Experience managing hybrid workforces (W‑2, 1099, vendor labor) domestically and internationally.
- Hands-on familiarity with event and security technologies (e.g., weapons detection, credentialing, access control).
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or relevant certifications (ICS/NIMS, PMP, CPP, or crowd management) preferred.
