About the Role
We’re looking for an Engineering Manager in Attentive’s Data & Integrations Platform org. The platform enables the rapid, reliable development of integrations with Attentive’s industry partners and is foundational to our business. These integrations process massive, real-time data that power both customer-facing products and internal machine learning systems.
In this role, you’ll partner closely with Product Management and Engineering partners to deliver end-to-end use cases, from concept through production. You’ll be hands-on where it matters—providing technical direction, reviewing architecture, and helping the team navigate complex systems—while also supporting engineers’ growth and fostering a healthy, high-performing team.
This is a role for a manager who enjoys balancing people leadership, technical depth, and cross-functional collaboration. You’ll be responsible for developing engineers, driving execution, and shaping the technical direction of a critical platform that scales with Attentive’s growth.
What You’ll Accomplish
- You are an effective people manager, who can manage high-performing teams and help them reach their highest potential
- Continue to grow the team, build upon the great culture, and nail the execution
- You'll participate in the detailed technical design, development, implementation, and support of our data ingestion pipelines and streaming applications using existing and emerging technology platforms
- You will collaborate with our product management team to craft plans to achieve our business goals
- You'll serve as a technical domain expert in large-scale data processing, low-latency data serving, architectural design decisions, developing and reviewing application code, and ensuring high availability and performance of our critical data infrastructure
Your Expertise
- You are an excellent coach, mentor, and developer of engineers
- You care about software quality and have a track record of building reliable, high-uptime systems, particularly in data-intensive environments
- You translate business needs into clearly scoped projects and take a hands-on approach to steer solution design and implementation
- You are excited by new technologies, yet know how to evaluate and choose the right tools for the right reasons
What We Use
- Our infrastructure runs primarily in Kubernetes hosted in AWS’s EKS
- Infrastructure tooling includes Istio, Datadog, Terraform, CloudFlare, and Helm
- Our backend is Java / Spring Boot microservices, built with Gradle, coupled with things like DynamoDB, AirFlow, Postgres, and Redis, hosted via AWS
- Our frontend is built with React and TypeScript, and uses best practices like GraphQL, Storybook, Radix UI, Vite, esbuild, and Playwright
- Our automation is driven by custom and open source machine learning models, lots of data and built with Python, Metaflow, HuggingFace 🤗, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Pandas

- The US base salary range for this full-time position is $193,000 - $265,000 annually + equity + benefits
- Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location
