Job Description:
Responsible for performing design engineering and associated tasks for government projects under the guidance of a Project Manager. This position involves frequent contact with government clients to assist with the day-to-day engineering operations of local agencies.
Accountability and Duties:
- Performs professional engineering and design work for government clients.
- Prepares reports, plans, specifications, construction schedules and permits for transportation, water/wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects.
- Obtains and evaluates pertinent field data for proposed construction projects.
- Prepares engineer’s opinion of probable cost and engineering design calculations.
- Assists with development plan reviews for compliance with local ordinances.
- Maintains a good relationship with clients.
- Prepares permit applications for capital projects.
- Assists in preparation of proposals for engineering services.
- Mentors and assists with training Staff Engineers.
- Delegates specific project assignments to Staff Engineers.
- Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
- Shares responsibility for project schedules and timely completion of projects.
- Participates in business development activities.
- Professionally represents the firm at client meetings/hearings.
- Assists with the preparation and monitoring of project budgets, billing and A/R.
- Perform other duties incidental to the work described herein.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
- Registered professional engineer with five years design experience in government capital projects, including transportation, water/wastewater and stormwater improvements.

Pay Range
$93,000 - $125,000 USD
