About the role

The Pricing Analyst will be responsible for performing a wide range of analytical tasks to support our rapidly expanding and evolving business. As a Pricing Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing pricing data, developing pricing strategies, and ensuring that pricing decisions are aligned with the company’s financial and strategic goals. Your work will directly impact the company’s profitability and market competitiveness.

 

This role is a hybrid position based out of our Austin, TX office. Expectations are to be onsite 3 days a week Tuesday-Thursday.

About the team

The Strategy and Insights team supports the business and technology vision and direction of the company’s products and features. We coordinate with upper management to shape and execute the roadmap of planned future changes to our products.  In addition, we work closely with marketing and sales to drive adoption and profitability of the company’s product line.  The Product team interfaces with every department within the company, and with our customers.

What will you be doing?

1. Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret pricing data and market trends.
  • Develop and maintain pricing models to support strategic pricing decisions.
  • Generate regular reports on pricing performance and profitability.
  • Utilize statistical tools and software to perform quantitative analysis.

2. Pricing Strategy Development:

  • Develop and recommend pricing strategies based on market research, competitor analysis, and cost structures.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and finance teams to understand market conditions and customer needs.
  • Implement pricing strategies and monitor their effectiveness.

3. Market Research:

  • Conduct market research to identify pricing trends, customer preferences, and competitor pricing.
  • Analyze customer behavior and price sensitivity to optimize pricing decisions.

4. Pricing Adjustments:

  • Monitor and adjust pricing strategies based on market changes, cost fluctuations, and business objectives.
  • Evaluate the impact of pricing changes on sales volume and profitability.

5. Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with sales, marketing, and product teams to align pricing strategies with overall business goals.
  • Provide pricing recommendations for new products or services.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics or business related major (or similar discipline with analytical bias)
  • A minimum of one year (1+) of experience in data analysis or relevant experience with a proven track record of success.
  • e-Commerce and or Logistics experience a plus.

  • Must have advanced MS Excel abilities, including writing formulas and manipulating queries.
  • Intermediate SQL abilities preferred.
  • Strong mathematical skills and instincts.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Self-motivation a must
  • Able to communicate effectively, develop compelling recommendations, and inspire team members, cross-functional partners, and executives.
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational and informational gathering skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
