About the role

The Associate Solution Architect is an integral part of the Commercial team and is key to the successful delivery of quality solutions to clients. The role holder is responsible for efficiency and quality of the solutions proposed by the Solution Architect & Pre-Sales team, designing documents and setting standards for solutions. The activity will involve work with the Architecture, Product and Technology teams to drive alignment of customer solutions and our product and architectural development.

What will you be doing?

Conducting solution audits suggesting recommendations, optimisations and industry best practices options
Supporting internal peer review of documentation presented at Technical Review
Assisting the Commercial team in the Pre-Sales phase to define initial high-level solution requirements
Maintaining and sharing in-depth knowledge of Metapack products and technologies
Attaining high levels of customer satisfaction at all times
Leading project discovery activities, including technical workshops, and produce agreed deliverables, such as design documentation

What are we looking for?

Ability of gathering and documenting business requirements
Ability to challenge and shape customer requirements, and understand the underlying reasons and expected benefits
Ability to carry out gap analysis between customer requirements and Metapack system capabilities
Ability to translate complex requirements into a solution, or a variety of solution proposals
Provide consultation to client architects and developers on systems integration design based on business processes and non-functional considerations
Running discovery workshops to define project scope and set up solution design proposals and systems integration approaches
Ability to communicate complex aspects of solutions to audiences who may not have deep technical knowledge
Producing solution design documentation – comprised of functional design and non-functional considerations
Technical knowledge of systems integration and interface design, including SOAP XML and REST JSON implementations
Producing API integration specification documents, including integration sequence diagrams, data mapping & data validation
Ability to collaborate with clients & internal teams (e.g. Commercial, Product, Professional Services, Legal) to determine the best solutions for known and anticipated constraints
Ability to work in complex, cross-functional project teams and with key stakeholders
Sound knowledge of project delivery lifecycle and experience delivering using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
Ability to easily adapt to change and effectively manage priorities
Change control management; managing changing or evolving client requirements and design decisions and maintaining up-to-date version-controlled documentation throughout the project lifecycle
Sound knowledge of e-commerce technology ecosystems and solution architecture approaches comprised of e-commerce platform, ERP, order management & warehouse management systems, as well as connecting service bus & middleware applications
Supporting Pre-Sales teams during sales cycle with global ecommerce leaders by providing technical analysis
Driving best practice across customer engagement practices and design documentation
Previous experience working within pre-sales, business analysis, product owner or software implementations would be acceptable in the absence of direct Solution Architect experience
Experience working on enterprise-level software implementation projects
Experience with business process mapping/optimisation, software configuration and testing processes
Experience with presentations and workshops
