About the role

The Senior Manager, Brand and Performance Media will drive top-of-funnel growth across the ShipStation Global portfolio, specifically Stamps.com (US only) and ShipStation in 4 geos by building and executing an integrated media strategy that balances brand growth, trials, and leads. You are a marketer who understands both emotional storytelling (brand) and strict financial efficiency (performance).

Reporting to the Vice President of Growth Marketing, this role will also lead and manage our media agency relationships and one direct report responsible for North America Stamps and ShipStation, ensuring our partners and internal teams are delivering high-quality strategic thinking, execution, measurement, and operational excellence.

This is a builder role for a highly analytical, curious marketer who can develop the media strategy, operating model, and influence the measurement approach, and testing roadmap needed to scale our business. You’ll bring a strong data-driven mindset to media planning and optimization—using insights, experimentation, and incrementality to understand what is truly driving growth.

You’ll partner closely with Product Marketing, Brand Marketing, Creative, Finance, Data & Analytics, and Performance Marketing to connect media investments to broader business objectives and deliver measurable impact.

This position is hybrid (3 days per week in office) and is located in Austin, TX.

What you will be doing?

  1. Build and execute an integrated paid media strategy that balances brand awareness, consideration, trials, and leads across ShipStation Global products and markets, partnering closely with Brand Marketing to create a holistic approach to brand and demand.
  2. Evolve our top-of-funnel media engine, working closely with Performance Marketing to create a connected full-funnel strategy across audio and video channels, including Influencer, Podcast, Radio, Linear TV, CTV, OLV, OTT, YouTube, and Social.
  3. Lead media planning and optimization with our media agency, using audience insights, creative performance, channel economics, and business KPIs to continuously improve reach, engagement, trials, leads, and CPA efficiency.
  4. Champion a test-and-learn culture, developing a clear experimentation roadmap to identify new channels, audiences, creative approaches, and strategies—with an emphasis on incrementality, scalability, and business impact.
  5. Leverage marketing analytics media measurement framework, using probabilistic and deterministic methodologies across online and offline channels to understand the true incremental impact of media investments and inform optimization and budget allocation.
  6. Own top-of-funnel attribution and measurement, partnering with Marketing Analytics to evolve our attribution framework through Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM), touch-based attribution, lift testing, and other incrementality methodologies proving the value of brand spend through hard data.
  7. Partner with Product Marketing, Brand, and Creative to develop and iterate on messaging, creative, audiences, and media strategies that improve the incremental impact and effectiveness of our investments.
  8. Lead media agency relationships, setting clear strategic direction, establishing performance expectations, managing budgets and scopes, and holding agency partners accountable for strategic recommendations, execution, reporting, and results.

What are we looking for?

  • Media strategy and planning: 6+ years of experience in integrated media, brand marketing, growth marketing, or related roles, ideally across both agency and client-side environments. Experience planning across digital and offline channels, including video, streaming/CTV, audio/podcasts, radio, linear TV, programmatic, and paid social.
  • Integrated brand and performance expertise: Demonstrated ability to balance brand awareness and consideration with measurable business outcomes, connecting top-of-funnel investment to trials, leads, customer acquisition, and full-funnel growth.
  • Builder mentality: Proven ability to build and scale media programs, operating models, planning processes, and measurement frameworks—not simply manage existing campaigns. Comfortable establishing structure, creating new ways of working, and turning ambiguity into action.
  • Data-driven investment and optimization: Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to translate audience insights, media performance, creative effectiveness, and channel economics into investment decisions. Experience managing performance against business KPIs such as CAC, CPA, conversion rates, incremental lift, ROAS, and LTV.
  • Measurement and experimentation: Understanding of media attribution, incrementality testing, conversion lift studies, and Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM). Ability to develop a structured test-and-learn roadmap, and use evidence to evaluate channel effectiveness, inform budget allocation, and demonstrate the business impact of brand investment.
  • Media technology and analytics: Hands-on experience with media buying, campaign management, analytics, and reporting platforms. Familiarity with tools such as Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, The Trade Desk (TTD), Google Display & Video 360 (DV360), Campaign Manager 360 (CM360), GA4, Looker, Tableau, or comparable platforms. Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills for budget modeling, forecasting, scenario planning, and performance analysis; SQL experience is a plus.
  • Agency and partner leadership: Demonstrated experience leading media agencies and external partners, including setting strategic direction, tight budget management and scopes, evaluating recommendations, establishing performance expectations, and driving accountability for execution, measurement, and results.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Ability to work effectively across Brand Marketing, Product Marketing, Creative, Performance Marketing, Finance, Data & Analytics, and other stakeholders to align media strategy, messaging, measurement, and business priorities.
  • Global and operational excellence: Experience managing multi-market or multi-brand programs, with strong planning, budget governance, reporting, and operational discipline. Ability to establish consistent frameworks while adapting media strategies to local market dynamics.
  • Communication and strategic influence: Strong communication, presentation, and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear recommendations, influence stakeholders, challenge assumptions constructively, and communicate trade-offs to senior leaders.
  • Leadership and adaptability: Experience mentoring or managing team members and coordinating cross-functional and external partners. Comfortable zooming out to set strategy and zooming in to solve executional challenges in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
