About Augment Code
The best software comes from Augmenting developers, not replacing them. We’re bringing joy back to software engineering and keeping developers in flow by building the best Developer AI, with deep contextual awareness of a company’s codebase.
About the role
We’re looking for a technically sharp, detail-oriented engineer to help test and validate our IntelliJ plugin across a wide range of environments. This role is focused on plugin reliability, environment coverage, and issue reproduction — helping us catch edge cases before they reach users and ensuring a consistently excellent developer experience.
You’ll work closely with engineers to isolate tricky bugs, maintain coverage across IDE versions and OS platforms, and verify plugin behavior before release. This is a great fit for someone who enjoys debugging complex technical issues and wants to have a direct hand in delivering polished, production-ready tools.
Examples of what you could do:
-
Reproduce complex customer issues across IDE versions, OSs, and configurations
-
Maintain a test matrix and ensure plugin coverage across supported environments
-
Test plugin builds before release, catching regressions and platform-specific bugs
-
Build minimal repros and simulate common user setups
-
File clear, actionable bug reports with steps and logs
You will…
-
Be the go-to for plugin quality and cross-platform testing
-
Isolate bugs and surface root causes before they hit production
-
Track platform, config, and IntelliJ-specific behaviors
-
Partner with engineers to validate fixes and new releases
-
Improve testing processes for higher plugin reliability
Required skills and experience:
-
2+ years in QA, technical support, or testing roles
-
Experience with IntelliJ IDEA or similar JetBrains IDEs
-
Comfortable working across macOS, Linux, and Windows
-
Strong debugging skills and attention to detail
-
Familiarity with Git, terminals, and reading logs
-
Clear written communication
Bonus Points:
-
Experience with IntelliJ plugin development or testing
-
Familiarity with Java/Kotlin and plugin internals
-
Exposure to automated test tools or CI systems
-
Background in dev tooling or IDE workflows
Employee Benefits:
-
Flexible work hours
-

-

-
Health, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance
-
Short Term and Long Term Disability
-
Unlimited Paid Time Off + Holidays. We focus on trust and ownership, not time in the chair
-
