About the role

We’re looking for a Product Designer who is well versed in coding to join us in our mission to redefine software engineering as we build our full code-centric AI stack. This role will work across the product on software creation features like our clients, automations platform, and data metrics surfaces. You’ll have ownership of various altitudes of design from strategy to UI details. This role will have a unique opportunity to contribute to the direction of how AI interfaces are defined.

  • Work with AI research teams to improve the utility and usability of Augment Code’s products and features.
  • Work with engineers to develop ergonomic UX solutions for editor limitations
  • Lead design sessions and craft prototypes to help visualize and productize approach to incorporate new AI technology into products
  • Work with Developer Experience and Marketing teams to discover and deliver solutions to new user needs and product opportunities
  • Contribute to and improve Augment’s design systems

You will…

  • Drive the product design experience from idea to software—concept sketches, user flows, prototypes, all the way to shipping to customers
  • Test and validate design ideas through building prototypes and concept testing with users
  • Partner with product and engineering on requirements and sequencing on initiatives you lead

Required skills and experience:

  • Professional Background - 5+ years of relevant experience as a designer specifically within SaaS and software authoring environments.
  • Technical Fluency - High proficiency in prototyping and a comfort level working directly with code with LLM powered agents.
  • Execution - A proven ability to drive projects from concept to completion, shipping product experiences that resonate with users.
  • Systems Expertise - Deep experience in systems and design thinking.
  • Ownership - A self-starter mindset with the ability to set independent goals while maintaining a high bar for both velocity and quality.
  • Collaboration - A track record of partnering effectively across research, product, engineering, marketing and design teams.

Bonus Points:

  • Specialized Design - Experience crafting tools tailored for software development or creative workflows
  • Data Systems - A background in designing complex system experiences involving data configuration and actionable insights
  • Multi-channel Workflows - Proven success in building seamless workflows that span across multiple product surfaces (e.g. IDE, command line) and platforms (e.g. Mac, Windows, Linux)

Annual Base Salary Range

$225,000 - $300,000 USD
