What You’ll Do:

The Vice President of Revenue Accounting & Compliance will report the Senior Vice President of Finance Operations, and be both a leader and change-agent, overseeing and managing the company’s royalty revenue portfolio, including the accounting, reporting and royalty compliance for a portfolio of global licensing partners. Furthermore, this role will proactively lead the team through process simplification and optimization, and have the ability to provide operational decision making to leadership. This role will also play an important role in scaling our revenue operations process and building collaboration across the business. As a part of Authentic’s accounting team, you will help to ensure the team provides accurate and timely financial reporting and that all accounting records are booked in accordance with US GAAP.

 

What You’ll Be Working On:

  • Provide leadership and direction for all activities within revenue accounting and compliance, including oversight over the royalty contract review process and administration and adherence to US GAAP for revenue recognition
  • Oversee weekly, monthly and quarterly royalty revenue reporting to both the management and operations teams - including the use of KPIs
  • Analyze and oversee reconciliation of quarterly reports received from licensees, ensuring information is received timely and in a defined format
  • Oversee and lead the process surrounding the recognition and reconciliation of deferred revenue and unbilled royalties
  • Prepare and present various analyses comparing actual royalty revenues to budget, investigating variances and analyzing trends
  • Oversee licensee reporting and compliance to determine any operational and/or licensee opportunities that need to be addressed, including potential breach of contract
  • Maintain strong communication lines with the brand development team, the legal department and licensees with respect to licensee operations and reporting
  • Provide financial advice by studying operational issues, applying financial principles and practices, and developing and implementing recommendations to improve policies and procedures
  • Proactively identify optimization opportunities – both systemically and through process changes, and work with stakeholders to help build upon sustainable and efficient processes
  • Provide leadership regarding the standardization of licensee onboarding processes
  • Develop and drive best practices in the business development and operations teams, to ensure consistency with Company requirements and needs
  • Support both internal and external audit requirements
  • Responsible for talent recruitment and development strategies for the Revenue and Compliance team, including hiring, training, employee development and performance management
  • Plan, organize, lead and control the activities of the group, including projects, schedules, priorities, and personnel
  • Foster an environment of optimization and promote/implement continuous improvement practices. Bring a mindset of ‘leaving things better than how you found them
  • Develop and maintain relationships with business leaders within the company

 

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA required, and public accounting experience a plus
  • Minimum 15 years of overall experience in revenue and accounting-related positions. Minimum 5 years experience in management of a team is preferred
  • Effective at leading and influencing across all levels of seniority, and to think creatively and identify innovative solutions
  • Proven experience in process improvement and driving optimization and efficiency
  • Working experience in large ERP solutions, (preferably NetSuite)
  • Highly proficient in MS Office (including Excel)
  • Ability to quickly problem solve and identify opportunities, quickly
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, excellent organizational abilities and ability to coordinate with personnel across the organization
  • Strong data analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Highly proactive and ability to work with limited supervision
  • Ability to prepare reports in an accurate and concise manner

 

Salary Range: $200,000 – $225,000
