What You’ll Do
The Retail Development Manager supports the execution of Authentic Brands Group’s retail development strategy in Mexico. Reporting to the Head of Country – Mexico, this role manages relationships with key retail partners and brand licensees, drives brand presence across priority retail accounts, and identifies opportunities to expand distribution and improve brand performance. The role acts as a brand ambassador for Authentic Brands, ensuring brand strategy is clearly communicated and consistently executed within the Mexican retail market.
What you’ll be working on
Retail & Partner Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key retail partners across Mexico at local, regional, and national levels.
- Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for retail accounts and brand partners, ensuring alignment with brand strategy and commercial objectives.
- Represent Authentic Brands and advocate for brand partners in discussions with retailers.
Brand Presentation & Commercial Storytelling
- Prepare and deliver professional brand and business presentations to retail partners.
- Clearly communicate brand positioning, category strategy, and growth opportunities in alignment with global brand direction.
- Support retail pitches, line reviews, and seasonal initiatives in collaboration with brand partners.
Retail Landscape & Opportunity Identification
- Maintain a strong understanding of the Mexican retail landscape, including key channels, retailers, competitors, and consumer trends.
- Identify opportunities for brand expansion, improved distribution, and enhanced merchandising.
- Evaluate market potential and realistic distribution opportunities by retailer and channel.
Vendor & Retail Execution Alignment
- Manage and maintain a shortlist of preferred vendors aligned with retailer requirements and brand standards.
- Support brand partners in navigating retailer-preferred vendor structures and expectations.
- Support retail execution, including brand placement, merchandising standards, and seasonal growth opportunities.
Sell-Through & Ongoing Support
- Provide ongoing support to retail partners and brand licensees to help drive sell-through and overall brand performance.
- Share market feedback, retail insights, and performance observations with internal stakeholders and partners.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure consistent brand execution aligned with strategic objectives.
Must Haves:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years of experience in retail development, wholesale, brand management, licensing, or commercial roles within fashion, lifestyle, or consumer brands.
- Strong knowledge of the Mexican retail market and established relationships with key retail accounts.
- Proven ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and present effectively to retail partners.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple brands and priorities in a fast-paced, multi-brand environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel within Mexico as required.
