What You’ll Do
Authentic has emerged as a global organization by investing in talent in key expansion markets: EMEAI, APAC and LATAM. These entrepreneurial teams have made significant progress expanding our brand reach and network of best-in-class licensees, as well as developing Authentic’s recognition and influence. We’re seeking a driven leader with extensive knowledge of brand licensing in the LATAM market who has a strong network of contacts in the licensing, wholesale, and retail sectors. The Regional President. LATAM will have overall P&L responsibility for the LATAM region, including annual business development goals, current licensee royalty streams, execution of marketing initiatives, and managing administrative costs standards throughout the creative process
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the LATAM Lifestyle and Entertainment business strategy and ensure the regional team delivers on it. This includes planning, revenue forecasting, and business analysis to inform go-forward plans for growth and efficiency
• Manage the LATAM team comprised of brand, business development, and marketing professionals, including in new countries as we expand the region. This includes talent acquisition, development, retention and ensuring each team member achieves their goals.
• Develop and implement business plans to ramp up business development and regional awareness of the company’s brand portfolio
• Position Authentic’s brands competitively; monitor competitor product efforts, site changes, and industry trends; work proactively to sustain the strength of brands and products
• Manage the regional team in partnering with licensees to develop and execute critical action plans including product initiatives, wholesale and retail distribution efforts, and digital and social media marketing
• Partner with the digital ecommerce and marketplaces teams to develop successful strategies with local retailers and platforms
• Formulate a development strategy that generates new business pipeline; incorporate regional and categorical nuances into the sales strategy
• Take a hands-on approach to business development for critical new licensees and partners; work closely with the business development team to drive sales activity and close deals. Leverage your network of contacts to schedule discussions and meetings with target licensing and retail prospects
• Own partner licensee relationships: Train, develop and ensure licensees are adhering to the standards of their agreements
• Monitor licensee performance and proactively troubleshoot and correct challenges relating to key contractual and operational issues
• Manage daily LATAM operations and support accounts receivable and collections activity
• Manage and monitor office business expense to budget; proactively adjust the budget to achieve P&L goals
• Lead and facilitate productive communications between the LATAM team and Authentic corporate office; ensure that local employees are informed and aware of corporate initiatives and directions related to their job responsibilities
Must Haves:
• A minimum of 15 years of experience in brand development and licensing within the fashion, retail or celebrity, and entertainment sectors
• Established network of contacts and strong relationships within the region
• Deep understanding of the LATAM retail and consumer markets, and demonstrated success driving revenue within them
• Fluent in Spanish and/or Portuguese
• Demonstrated success leading both business and people, ideally in a multi-country role
• Be a decisive problem solver with the ability to assess situations quickly, consider options, and choose a path forward
• Experience in fast-paced, performance-driven, entrepreneurial environment
• Extensive travel required
