Job Summary

The Senior Software Developer is responsible for coordinating and managing aspects of the design, development, and maintenance of the Auto Integrate Web presence, taking strategic direction from the Head of Product Development to ensure the web services and related digital materials support strategic objectives. The Senior Software Developer will work on key projects and enhancements that require skills in front-end and back-end web development related to the platform. This position also requires a high degree of teamwork with a tenured and cohesive development team, making interpersonal skills and a positive attitude as important as technical qualifications.

You Will

  • Define objectives by analysing user requirements; envisioning system features and functionality.
  • Design and develop user interfaces to Internet applications by setting expectations and feature priorities throughout development life cycle; determining design methodologies and tool sets; completing programming using languages and software products; designing and conducting tests.
  • Recommend system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchase alternatives.
  • Complete application development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities; contributing to team meetings; troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms.
  • Support users by developing documentation and assistance tools.
  • Update job knowledge by researching new internet technologies and software products; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Support and develop software developers by providing advice, coaching, mentoring and educational opportunities.
  • Review code development and implementation processes to achieve continuous quality improvement in project deliverables.
  • Collaborate with other teams to define and implement interfaces for enabling interoperability of information systems with Product Development.
  • Suggest and generate new ideas to enhance the visibility of Auto Integrate via the Web and the Internet.
  • Work with Service Delivery teams to monitor regular maintenance, upgrades, and security for Auto Integrate Web systems. Ensure 24x7x365 coverage and performance of critical production systems.
  • Maintain a thorough and current understanding of Web and other electronic media.
  • Serve as a member of the Development Team leadership team.
  • Provide 90/10 leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development.
  • Apply 80/20 focus on prioritisation of tasks and workload.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, QMS quality standards and Health and Safety practices.
  • Identify opportunities for 30/30 continuous improvement.
  • Adopt a professional manner at all times with colleagues and customers.
  • Proactively report to line manager, keeping them up to date with current workload and roadblocks.
  • Perform any other duties required in order to support the needs of the business as defined by their line manager.

This role may be a great fit if you:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in related field preferred; substantial career experience can be substituted for a degree.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Expert knowledge and experience in developing web applications and services using React, ASP.NET and C#.
  • Ability to manage priorities, deadlines, and time critical situations for multiple projects and clients.
  • Strong skills in managing projects and people and proven diplomatic, leadership, and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team setting.
  • Aptitude and motivation to acquire new skills is needed.
